I thought Delphi 6 personal was a free download from borland's web-site?

Well, 60MB (or 113 or whatever it was) is a bit steep for a slow modem
connection, and anyway the CLX library is not included. And then you need
Kylix...

As for Linux..... PC Plus (A uk computer title) gives away a disto evrey • couple

but who says I _want_ to install Linux on my computer? I'm happy enough with
Windows for the moment, and don't care much for prophets, canons or acolytes
that insist I must bow to the holy Linux to be saved.

I've been in the computer business for more than 25 years, tried most
languages and operating systems (I played with unix almost from it's
conception), and I'm getting quite tired of crusades and holy wars (C++ vs
Object Pascal, Windows vs Linux, PC vs Mac, to name a few of the recent ones).
I can use whatever is put in front of me, in whatever language there happens
to be installed, and I'll learn what's needed when it's needed.

But for my hobby programming, _I_ choose my tools, and don't need anyone else
to tell me what to use.

Happy building,
