MOTM voting irregularities - Florida all over again?

Hi all, OK, listen up. This message is for a small percentage of people out there. Voting more than once for a model does not work. All IP addresses are logged and it is easy to spot duplicates. Duplicates are deducted from the score. Easy to spot, (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: December 2000 LDraw MOTM competition

(...) Jeez Jeff, where have you been for the last month? Haven't you at least heard about the Debacle (or should I say Travesty? Farce?) in Florida? The year 2000 may well be known to future generations as the year of the chad. Sad, isn't it? -- (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: bend thingie creator.

(...) Sorry, I explained myself poorly, I divide the curve in segments with only 2 points each. Bezier and Hermite curves are very similar, but I don't use Bezier curves because the control points are not very user-friendly, I'd rather have tangents (...)   Re: LDLite center offset problem?

(...) It was probably Jeremy Sproat who did this interface, if my memory serves. He is apparently not active on LUGNET now. I don't have an environment for compiling programs under Windows myself, so I cannot make the needed changes to the source (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDLite center offset problem?

(...) Yep... I pointed this out to Gyug, and he said that the interface for the view options was actually provided by a 3rd party. He said that he would relay the info to said person and hopefully the problem would be fixed in the next version.. (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: December 2000 LDraw MOTM competition

I have a couple of models I'd like to submit, but I have no idea how to begint o render them. LDLite didn't work for me. I haven't installed POVRay in years. Is there a good program to do it quickly, a service that does it (a-la upload .dat to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  LDLite center offset problem?

Anyone else have this problem? I can't type in negative numbers into the center-offset boxes (X and Y offset) in LDLite (2.0b, I think -- the latest one on Paul Gyugyi's web site). It also doesn't work in 1.6. I tried on the upper row of keys on the (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  December 2000 LDraw MOTM competition

Hi all, It is that time of the month again(1) - time to vote! And unlike Florida, I have no problem hand-counting votes. So shake off any excess chads and visit: (URL) real good entries this month - an excellent variety. Plus the winner will be the (...)   Re: *** The best LEGO CAD software ? ***

I can't wait to get your optimization! The latest version of MLCAD is much faster than the previous one (since it tries not to redraw the entire model), but this sounds fantastic!   Re: bend thingie creator.

(...) I'm using a simplified form of bezier curves, like you see in most drawing software like coreldraw etc.. this is also x = f(t), y = g(t) and z = h(t) with f, g and h being a*t^3 + b*t^2 +c*t + d . a, b , c and d can than simply be calculated (...)   Re: Dull metal color?

(...) Yes indeed! Would I simply change the reflectivity of the color? That seems pretty easy; I'll try it when I get home. Thanks! Dave! (24 years ago, 24-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Dull metal color?

(...) If I recall correctly, the FAQ says to use the same color code (#383). If ray-tracing (using POV-RAY), you can distinguish be encoding a variant of the translated color -- I'm assuming you'll be using L3P -- to have a non-reflective version of (...)
