Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) I just added a statement on that page noting that direct links to the parts images are OK. Just so there's no confusion. :-) --Todd (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) No, it's OK: people can link directly to the images just as they did before at the previous location. On the splash page, it even says how to refer to the images at the new URL. --Todd (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Full range of colors?

(...) The LDraw FAQ is pretty comprehensive when it comes to the LDraw colors. LDAO does have a color chart, showing all possible allowed combinations for LDraw, but the colors are actually generated from LDLite. BUT, I *think* I posted a "color (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Ooo, didn't think about that one. Hmm. I guess you'll need to copy the images off to your own server. That's too bad. BTW, the primary reason I wanted to move off the WorldNet site was because I could never get an FTP connection to do updates. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Well, like it says on the page, "To reference a part image, when you already know the LDraw number for that part, use the following URL format. (URL).gif" In other words, linking directly to these images is OK in this case. (...) These are (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Full range of colors?

I've looked through the LDraw FAQs, and I'm casually familiar with the color palette available, but I was wondering if anyone has assembled a more-or-less comprehensive listing of the colors available for use with LDraw. (Mind you, that was all one (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

I could host the images if it makes it easier for people to use it, or cheaper for LUGNET. (I don't have any restrictions on direct linking). KL (...) from (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Arguably you're going to have to make copies of the images and host them yourself. That's a downside. I didn't have too much guilt over having AT&T pay for the traffic (presumably Steve isn't paying per byte the way Todd is). (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Old Parts replaced by Newer Versions?

Currently, my biggest pet peeve is 4212.dat, the 4 x 10 x 2/3 car base. The new version actually 4 x 10 x 18/24, the square section in the center has been sunk fruther in so that 2x2x2 town chairs in down to the first plate level. One long plate can (...)   Re: Old Parts replaced by Newer Versions?

Check to make sure the diameter & positioning of the clip is the same on both the old and new pieces, and (assuming they are the same) modify the original file. The current (...)   Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

The LEGO Elements Image Catalog, currently at (URL), is in the process of relocating to a new home on LUGNET. See it at (URL). Right now, the catalog is at both locations. This will continue at least until the next release of new parts for LDraw. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.announce)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) One of MLCAD's great strengths is that is allows you to alter the units used in its three scales. They only default to Lego sizes. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Problems with Ldraw related sites

(...) The only other thing I'd want is a "MyParts" page, where an author could update just their own entries, without scrolling through everything in the current list.
