Re: Centering (was: I need help with the new tread links)

That was a trick answer. I don't know how and I am hoping someone will say how. I think MLCad takes the center of the grouping bounding rectangle. It certainly doesn't seem to be based on the origin. I had a submodel that I made sure had its 0,0,0 (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Centering (was: I need help with the new tread links)

(...) Actually, you've mentioned off-handedly something that's been bugging me for a long time; how do you "set" the center of rotation? As with a lot of my questions, I'm afraid the answer might be embarrassingly simple, but I haven't been able to (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: I need help with the new tread links

(...) Well, I'd get one positioned correctly in good contact with the gear, and in the horizontal plane, then group the two items together, make sure the center of rotation is the center of the gear, and rotate by the proper number of degrees. (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

I am pretty purist myself and can't see using clones or modeling with them (except in trains if some clone comes along and delivers what most trainheads want at acceptable quality levels), but I repeat my thesis: Why be exclusionary? What's wrong (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Linux Magazine Article

Hi, I've just received a message from a user about an article in the December issue of Linux Magazine (Volume 1 Number 8) on page 77. I don't have the magazine but he was kind enough to type the article for me: <article> Forget Tetris Show Me any (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Anybody working on spoked Adventurer's wheel?

Now that the parts tracked doesn't seem to work, I'd like to ask if anybody are working on the spoked wheel, as seen in the Adventurers sets? I was thinking of giving it a try. Do anybody know the number for it? It doesn't seem to have a number (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Problems with Ldraw related sites

Tim: (...) It certainly could be, but it would take some time due to my (slightly paranoid?) view of CGI programs - even those I write myself. I am not sure if the current version just needs some minor fixes or a complete rewrite based on lessons (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: ldraw update? last was 9905. 6 months ago

(...) Tom, Steve Bliss has taken over Terry's position at Terry's request. As far as I understand, 9907 (or 2000-01) is in the works. -Tim (URL) timcourtne ICQ: 23951114 If you don't believe in Gosh, you'll go to Heck, where you'll face eternal (...)   ldraw update? last was 9905. 6 months ago

ive noticed there has been no update for... ( heart attack , keels over... ) ... 6 months. if the developement of ldraw can progress, someone needs to pacage up 9906's parts and give them to tim C. , or jacob. someones gotta pickup where terry left (...)   Re: Problems with Ldraw related sites

(...) Question- Should the Parts Tracker be moved to ldraw.org? IMO it would be more accessible and easier to use there, and the site is a natural location for such a utility. Just a question/suggestion, not pushing anything. It would be nice for it (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  ldraw.org Winter Goals

Its time to make another thrust forward in the development of ldraw.org, and the winter season is the perfect time for it. So far, we've gotten the site up and its been a success. LDraw now has a permanent home and dedicated website to the cause. (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad, lugnet.org.us)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Reading the (URL) page, I always thought it was just assumed (in the "commonly understood" sense) that the purpose of ldraw.org was to unify LDraw things that were specifically LEGO-related (i.e., not for non-LEGO stuff). But maybe that's just (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Good observations. A program optimized for K'Nex and a K'Nex parts library would benefit the fans of K'Nex, but again, LDraw should focus on Lego brand products.
