Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) Agreed. Rotation is the bigger pain. (...) In LEdit, I occasionally add an imaginary new piece, "rotate.dat", after the piece I want to rotate. Move it to the point where I want it, then set the rotation on that point. Move back up a line to (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Update 9904 released

(...) I took a gander at the patterned baseplates and noticed something disturbing: Half of the (14 existing) patterns don't line up properly. There is much variation between line thickness and positioning, and I don't think there should be. Most, (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) The center should be centered on the top of the brick, between the studs, as it is with every other hinge piece in LDraw. Moving the center of rotation to the hinge is a trivial amount of work, as it is with every other hinge piece in LDraw. (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) The center should be on the rotation point. Like you said, rotating the pieces when the rotation point is not centered on the hinge is a bigger pain than getting the pieces into the right position. (It would be great if some future version of (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  problem with parts

i have discovered 2 things with 99-04: 1.the gif image is wrong. it shows the forestmen and waiter torsos when it should not. 2.the yellow t-junction part needs to be fixed ASAP. the yellow lines are wrong. they do not line up with the yellow lines (...)   Minifig hair

Is there a minifig hair-piece (both for maing a man and a woman) in LDraw? If, what numbers do they have? And if not, will anbody make this? I am also wondering about the triangular, flat hats found in some pirate and castle sets. I need theese (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Update 9904 released

LDraw cognoscente, The last voting parts have been released, LCAD9904. Mostly new parts, with a few fixes that didn't make the last maintenance update. The large Technic shock is not included. Still need to figure out how best to release it. (URL) (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  part wanted: at-at foot

i am looking for the part that has been refered to on rtl as a good part for an at-at foot. if someone can give it to me (even a mock-up) then i promise to make a seriouly cool at-at model. (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Discussion-Large Technic Shock 2909c01.dat

(...) No, just the one-shot deal. Of course, it may look better at a smaller scale. Then again, it may look worse. I would do it right now, but I can barely keep my eyes open, and I promised myself "email and lugnet only, then to sleep". -- Terry K (...) (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Making new (Star Wars) parts

i assume that the round corner tile from the front of the landspeeder is in the sw mini update? if it is not then it should be also the one part of note that hasn't been done (even in pock-up form( is the tie canopy. anyone want to consider a (...)   Re: Discussion-Large Technic Shock 2909c01.dat

(...) I say this looks pretty good in LDLite. Certainly as good as the flexible hose solution (and it doesn't take nearly as long to draw). I just had a though about POV-Raying this part: if someone could just create a correct POV version of the two (...) (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Making new (Star Wars) parts

(...) I got 90% through it last night. The area at the front where the "female" hinge slips in is quite complex, so it may take me a little while. The parts definitely look cool when put together. (...) Maybe I can get this one in shape today. I'm (...) (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) the (...) "It's slinky, it's slinky, a wonder- wonderful toy . . ." What we need is a torus primitive for this which L3P can subsitute. Terry, have you done any POVs of the whole assembly at a smaller scale? -John Van (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: new part description changes?

  Re: Discussion-Large Technic Shock 2909c01.dat

(...) Cool. OK, doing a 640x480 rendering now.... While we're all virtually waiting, I'd like to know how long it took you to create the dat file, and your assesment of the difficulty of doing so. It does look pretty good in LDlite, which is a plus. (...) (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: making 5571 giant truck

thanks for pointing out my mistake. does ldraw have either the window of the thing that fits inside the window? part numbers/descriptions? (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Making new (Star Wars) parts

hey john, have you got the other hinge in a releasable state? can you post it to cad.dat? also do not forget to send toe 1 x 4 tile with 5 red and 4 white stripes to tery for the SW mini update. (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) I think the insertion point should be the top of the brick - better one piece be non-trivial to place than both. Also, often the second half of the hinge will be in a subfile, and therefore will be easier to manually center. (...) I would call (...) (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
