While creating some models that use this part as a non bulb covering, I've noticed two problems with it 1) the dome top is too squashed - while not a perfect sphere it is not as flat as the current part 2) the part is too short - the real one is (...) Here's a part from the Pat Pend era I found in an old LEGO lot newly purchased. It is black and there are traces from a blue part glued on top of it. (...) I count about 49 heads. That's based on an out-of-date directory on my hard drive, there may be a few more by now. That's a lot of parts to update all in one go. While I was reviewing this part; "Minifig Head with Standard Grin Pattern" (URL) came across this note; "The (sub)part is still missing most of the horizontal conditional edges.
