While I was reviewing this part;
"Minifig Head with Standard Grin Pattern"
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/3626bp01.dat
I came across this note;
"The (sub)part is still missing most of the horizontal conditional edges. Could
torus primitives be used?"
My answer would be, "sure why not..." Well, after a bit of thinking, why not,
ALL the patterned head parts would then need to be updated to the shape of the
torus(4 surfaces instead of 2).
If we were to undertake that challenge, this is the torii code we would use;
The following is for the patterned pieces, providing there is no pattern on the
torii surfaces.
1 16 0 4 0 0 0 -8 0 -6.4 0 -8 0 0 t04o6250.dat
1 16 0 4 0 8 0 0 0 -6.4 0 0 0 -8 t04o6250.dat
1 16 0 17 0 0 0 8 0 6.4 0 -8 0 0 t04o6250.dat
1 16 0 17 0 -8 0 0 0 6.4 0 0 0 -8 t04o6250.dat
The following for sub-part(s);
1 16 0 4 0 0 0 8 0 -6.4 0 8 0 0 t04o6250.dat
1 16 0 4 0 -8 0 0 0 -6.4 0 0 0 8 t04o6250.dat
1 16 0 17 0 0 0 -8 0 6.4 0 8 0 0 t04o6250.dat
1 16 0 17 0 8 0 0 0 6.4 0 0 0 8 t04o6250.dat
Anyone up for a reply?
Paul
