exactly - besides, in real OSs, the line is terminated by the LF, and
the CR is the llast char on the line :)

But real OSs don't know anything about lines! And they're booted by entering
a JMP instruction with switches on the front panel & executing it...

(...) Front panel?!? What kind of hardware are you on? Real computers for real OSs don't have a front panel. You solder your switches directly onto the board... ;-) Jacob (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
