(...) thanks for the help dan, but i did a test, submitted a part i KNOW can go through, it gave me the same error. and what in god's name is a carriage return? (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: HHEELLPPP! parts tracker messed up

Thanks I got it to work by opening the file in wordpad, selecting all, copying, and pasting into a new doc with the same name. The new file worked fine. Weird, George (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)

I used QUAD2DAT to create the original file. I'm sure that it is the same program the Thomas used. It's possible that when Chris added the new lines to this release he changed how he wrote the dat out. (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: HHEELLPPP! parts tracker messed up

(...) yes i use quad2dat, but i was submitting part 30541 a non-pattened part. then i resubmitted part 2484 just to test it. 2484 went through before without a problem. i did the same thing, wordpad cut, new doc, paste save... it worked (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: HHEELLPPP! parts tracker messed up

(...) If you are using Windows 2000, just opening the file and manually saving it will correct the format. I don't know if WordPad in other versions of Windows will work the same way (but it's worth trying). Steve (22 years ago, 23-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Nitpicking - the linebreak character sequence is 0x0d0a (or \r\n (or CR/LF)). Carriage Return (0x0d), then Line Feed (0x0a). Steve (22 years ago, 23-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: HHEELLPPP! parts tracker messed up

(...) Adding on to my nitpickiness: I think Dan was writing from the perspective of the PT code, which treats the line feed character as the terminator, and the carriage return as just an odd character at the end of the line of text... Steve (22 years ago, 23-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad)
