| | Setting up IE to view DAT files with L3Lab? Fredrik Glöckner
|
| | Hi, my work PC has Windows NT and Internet Explorer 4.0. When I click on a DAT file from a hypertext reference, e.g. (URL) DAT file is sent to L3Lab and views nicely. If I click on a DAT file from some of the LUGNET CAD groups, however, I am (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Did you use the "Register Files" command in L3Lab? This function should make the registry settings needed to launch DAT files via MIME-types. At least, it seemed to on my system. Steve (25 years ago, 16-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Yes, I did. The problem appears to be that files from the LUGNET web interface don't have the ".dat" extension, but called "ldraw", "ldraw(1)", "ldraw(2)" and so on. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Fredrik (25 years ago, 17-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Hmm. What client are you using, and what URLs are you accessing? The names "ldraw", "ldraw(1)", "ldraw(3)", etc. don't come from the webserver -- it doesn't specify a filename. --Todd (25 years ago, 17-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) I'm using Internet Explorer 4.0 on Windows NT platform (yes, this is at work, I would never use such a thing at home). The URLs I'm accessing are the ones you get by clicking on the "[DAT]" symbol in the LUGNET web interface, eg: (URL) I try (...) (25 years ago, 17-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) I'm pretty sure there are instructions on how to set this up in the README.TXT file in the ldglite distribution. They should be generic enough to apply to l3lab. The only gotcha is whether l3lab can handle filenames with spaces and parenthesis (...) (25 years ago, 17-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad)
