Is there an origin point specified in LDRAW parts?

If there is an origin point specified in LDRAW part files, I would like to know what is needed in order to calculate it's position and alignment to the x, y, z coordinate system LDRAW uses. Can anyone point me to where I can find information that (...) (17 years ago, 25-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Pneumatic elements

(...) Hi Jetro, Constitutive parts of elements (that are not sold separately) have names prefixed with ~ or _. You will find them in "Other parts" -> "Others" category of MLCad. Alternatively, you can also have a look at this list: (URL) and pick (...) (17 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: NXT based 3D scanner

Philo! What a great tool to help your parts authoring. Not only is this creation fantastic, rare and unique, but some of your technical descriptions leave me reaching for my coffee and asprin! Amazing! I love the part of the video where you pan over (...) (17 years ago, 22-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.robotics)

  Next parts update?

Any idea when the next LDraw parts update will be realeased? So far there are over 700 certified files in the tracker. (17 years ago, 21-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Pneumatic elements

(...) You could simply just instruct to inline the compositions - if MLCad only could inline parts! The only ways I know of would be to either - inline them with LDraw Design Pad, which would be kind of tedious in my opinion anyway, or - open the (...) (17 years ago, 21-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Pneumatic elements

I'm trying to create an LDraw description of a construction with a large number of Pneumatic elements. Using complete cylinders (either extended or retracted) or switches (neutral position) will make creating the file very hard and may not always be (...) (17 years ago, 21-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LSynth 3 available on kclague.net

(...) But I did... that is, the release I downloaded a few days ago did it automatically, so I do have <blah>\bin\lsynthcp.exe. I tried also to remove it out of bin, rename it to LSynth.exe (as I saw on a screenshot in Willy's tutorial), but nothing (...) (17 years ago, 17-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: NXT based 3D scanner

Thanks everybody, be sure that when I got my first frog LDraw model out of it I was enthusiastic too! (...) But I am a bit afraid that the wings patterns will not be recognisable after the scan... Philo (17 years ago, 17-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT based 3D scanner

It's very impressive that you pulled off a reasonably-precise 3D scanner using LEGO. Don't worry about its speed: all touch/contact scanners are slow. :) (17 years ago, 16-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.robotics)

Re: LSynth 3 available on kclague.net

(...) I can quickly address the second issue. After I released it, I recalled that MLCad seemed to assume that LSynth was installed in something like <blah>\bin\lsynthcp.exe. I remember being disturbed by this choice at at the time, because it (...) (17 years ago, 16-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LSynth 3 available on kclague.net

(...) Hi Kevin & co, I just tried to install LSynth and ran into two problems. I did go through the tutorial and troubleshooting page, but couldn't find anything about it. The first problem is that it seems that not all necessary parts are included (...) (17 years ago, 14-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)

  NXT based 3D scanner

Re: Orientation of parts in PLI using LPub 4.x

I figured it out and using the old ORIENTATION file from and old LPub version. The strange thing is that the 2x4 plates display rotated, but the 2x6 does not. It is in the same file and orientated the same like the 2x4 plates. Clearing the (...) (17 years ago, 13-Mar-09, to lugnet.cad)
