LDLite will do work, but it does bark at you when there's no setting for the
LDraw directory. Clicking Cancel gets you past that prompt, and then LDLite
draws the file as best it can.

I think your idea for a packager is very good. I'd be somewhat concerned about
sending executables via email, but that's a problem for the sender and receiver.
Another solution would be for the viewer-program to retrieve the part files from
the official library URL. Having these files available for programs to access
was part of the reason to put them up on the website. At one time, we had a
process to zip up each file and allow them to be downloaded as invidual zips,
but we're no longer maintaining that interface (we could start up again, if it
is useful to someone).

I asked myself: Shall I render all the steps of the instructions via LPub - which takes a long time? Or shall I just send him the mpd-file and a (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jan-06, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)
