  Re: What is 'LDraw?'

(...) I'd prefer that the group and website both go by ldraw.org. When refering specifically to the people, it would be 'ldraw.org group'. For the webpages, it would be 'ldraw.org site'. (...) Which updates? The new mklist.exe? Fixed versions of (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Line in the Sand

(...) Yes, it would render correctly, but it would also disable clipping more often than is required, in the case of mixed solid and transparent sections. Think of a submodel where the author used color 16, and the person using the submodel renders (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Comments on models

(...) LMK means Let Me Know. MKM16 is just shorthand for Microfig Kreigmacht #16. (This is why I don't work in marketing! :-) Thanks! This one is my favorite too. It looks ugly enough -- like a dump truck is ugly -- to be real. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: Line in the Sand

(...) It's an admin role vs. personal role thing. I took it upon myself to write up a spec, I didn't want to imply that it was endorsed by the group at large. (...) Hmmm. You're right. Inversion is no more global than accumulated clipping. They are (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Lego capable CAD software for the Mac ?

(...) Actually, I'm interested in getting a standard, OO Perl module for LDraw files. I've been working on one which offers levels of abstraction for line (partline, quadline, etc.), part, file, mpdfile, etc. #Mmmm.... use LDraw qq( :file (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Webpage

Please reserve the lugnet.cad.dat.* groups for posts with .dat file content (see group charters). I know it's tempting to put a post about a model in a group that has ".model" in the name, or to put questions about parts in a group that has ".parts" (...)   Re: New part: Plate 6 x 6 x 2/3 Cross with Dome - 30303.dat  [DAT]

You're getting there Paul. There's still some clean up to be done. First, when referring to subfiles in parts\s\, don't include a leading \: Don't do: 1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 \s\30303a.dat Do: 1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 s\30303a.dat I'm not (...)   Re: LDraw DAT certification for clones?

(...) Considered, yes. Done something, no. (...) We try to do that already. (...) How do we do that? (...) I am not sure that the BP7 floating-point format exactly matches the IEEE format, but I will look it up. (...) Yes. Also for easy testing of (...)   Re: What is 'LDraw?'

(...) No. But using the phrase "The LDS" may require some troublesome context switching from anyone familiar with the Mormon church. Kidding ... I think. -- jthompson@esker.com "Float on a river, forever and ever, Emily" (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)
