  Re: LDraw and LEGO World

(...) More or less the same answer here... I'll bring my 3D scanners, and set the bridge between LDraw and Mindstorms ;o) Philo (14 years ago, 28-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDraw and LEGO World

(...) I'll be in Zwolle and I'd love to hear about LPub directly from you. I don't know if there are any programmed presentations though, but there ill be plenty of people in the Technic and MINDSTORMS sections who'd like to hear it too. Jetro (14 years ago, 27-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

  LDraw and LEGO World

Hi gang, I'm very happy to say that I'm attending LEGO World in Zwolle. I know some of you will be there. I'm really looking forward to meeting old friends in person for the first time! Is there a planned LDraw gathering, and/or presentations? I'd (...) (14 years ago, 27-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

Re: SR 3D Builder 0.5.5.3 - FLEX part anticipation

(...) This is absolutely wonderful! I love the WYSIWYG nature of your hosing mechanism, especially the instantaneous feedback of where the hoses go. I also really like how you can control the length of the hose between any two "constraints" (that is (...) (14 years ago, 26-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

(...) With Tabs and Chain? What would be really awesome but much more technically challenging would be cloth items. Keep up the great work. -Orion (14 years ago, 26-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

Re: SR 3D Builder 0.5.5.3 - FLEX part anticipation

(...) I sure do! very impressive... though it seems that the air will have a hard time going through the first yellow tube ;o) (14 years ago, 26-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

SR 3D Builder 0.5.5.3 - FLEX part anticipation

Hi, here is a new video anticipating my application next release Hope you like it Sergio (URL) (14 years ago, 25-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Advice on hair pieces  [DAT]

(...) is inset a little way and this stud only juts out by 1 or 2 LDU at most. I find I can get a reasonable facsimile of the interior by using this set of primitives: 1 16 0 0 0 13 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 13 4-4edge.dat 1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 1 (...) (14 years ago, 25-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Edger2 update

(...) LETGUI is now updated to work with Edger2 version 1.3. Complete package (LETGUI and all tools) can be downloaded from (URL) here> cu mikeheide (14 years ago, 24-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Edger2 update

(URL) Primitives such as partial cylinders or spheres have conditional lines on edge. For cylinders, these integrated conditional lines are expected to match a tangent plane, for spheres they match a joining cylinder. If you try to join something (...)   Re: Why quads? Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 4th batch

(...) Hmmm, it seems to me that any algorithm that can find the missing Type 5 lines (in order to create the dummy entries) should be able to find *all* of the Type 5 lines. Some missing lines is just a special case of all missing. So just include (...) (14 years ago, 23-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Why quads? Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 4th batch

(...) Actually, no. That is indeed a long-term goal, but it is hampered by two things. First of all, it's a lot of work. Secondly, the current algorithm is actually useful to part authors, since it can visually highlight missing conditional lines. (...) (14 years ago, 23-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Conditional lines on sloped wedge parts 43720 and 43721

(...) Unfortunately it messes up unless you inlude FTX line breaks, or fixed code box characters (pipe). Unfortunately, both make it harder for people using email or newsreaders, so probably best to do it as you did, browsers can just click "View (...)   Re: Why quads? Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 4th batch

(...) Sorry for that ;o) But (fortunately) here are very few twisted surfaces in LEGO pieces, so I don't think my tool has created too much havoc... (...) Problem is that at this low level I have almost no information about the intended geometry - I (...) (14 years ago, 22-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Advice on hair pieces

(...) So do I... That's why I love Sculptris that has a wonderfully intuitive interface (but it does help to have a reasonably powerful machine). Meshlab is more austere and lacks documentation, but the few needed functions can be conquered without (...) (14 years ago, 22-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Advice on hair pieces

(...) reads the primitives correctly. What I meant about bad lines was that I noticed your tool does some checking for spurious lines; that must just be for lines between coplanar surfaces. (I could see this being a problem for highly detailed parts (...) (14 years ago, 22-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Conditional lines on sloped wedge parts 43720 and 43721  [DAT]

(...) Very interesting! (URL) I am not so much comvinced by the improvement for flat shading. Looks like we trade triangular artefacts in one direction with artefacts in the other one. But it drastically improves the very ugly condlines artefacts! (...) (14 years ago, 22-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  Re: Advice on hair pieces

(...) Not sure what you mean - it doesn't check if a line has its ends properly ending on a surface vertex. (loosely related) I have a pending update for edger2 that check if the angle of existing condlines matches angle between surfaces. If the (...) (14 years ago, 22-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Why quads? Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 4th batch

(...) I see. So what you really want to do in LDView is ignore the Type 5 lines (at least for smoothing) and smooth wherever there's no Type 2 edge lines between the triangles (and quads). (...) Did anybody ever did actually fix the parts though? I (...) (14 years ago, 22-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
