  "Building with Bricksmith" screencast video

I have recorded a silent video "screencast" of the creation of my most recent (URL) LDraw model> (yet another B-Wing variant). It is not a short video, but it shows the whole process from start to finish. Watching it has already given me a few ideas (...)   Working with large models in LDD.

Hello all, I am currently working on a mosaic using nothing but 1x1 bricks. My problem is that the its over 13000 bricks. This seems to really cause problems with the speed of LDD. I am using a Macintosh PowerBook 1.67 with a gig of ram. It was (...) (17 years ago, 16-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

Re: Selling prints of LDraw renders

(...) Ok, thanks guys. As I've looked into logistics in other areas (would people even be interested in buying prints/cards/etc. of LDraw scenes? I have a feeling it would be difficult to turn any kind of profit with this.) I'm not sure how far I'll (...) (17 years ago, 14-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Selling prints of LDraw renders

(...) Given the way the software is made available, I would hope that anyone considering turning a profit from it might consider earmarking a portion of the proceeds to Ldraw.org - like Tim Courtney did from the sales of (URL) Virtual Lego>. Cheers (...) (17 years ago, 14-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Selling prints of LDraw renders

(...) Dear Philip, To my knowledge there is nothing stopping you doing this. I wouldn't swear that it's not infringing copyright (IANAL) but I find it extremely unlikely anyone would make an issue out of it. Tim (speaking without his SteerCo hat on) (17 years ago, 14-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Counting Parts in MPD file

(...) There is the Bricklink inventory format and the one used by BrickStore. Both seem to do what you want. (17 years ago, 13-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Selling prints of LDraw renders

I'm interested in selling prints of renders I've made of LDraw scenes. The way I interpret the terms of service, it appears that this is fine, but I wanted to check here to make sure I haven't missed anything. Is there any precedent for this and is (...) (17 years ago, 12-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Counting Parts in MPD file

(...) Brickstore can already export wanted list and inventory XML files ready for importing into Bricklink, it does the conversion between Ldraw and Bricklink colour codes when you import the Ldraw file. It will even open your browser to the import (...) (17 years ago, 10-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Counting Parts in MPD file

(...) Except that in Sweden (other places too, maybe) it's 'skv' - semi-colon separated values with decimal comma. Excel on a Swedish computer should in theory be able to import csv, but one often gets interesting surprises (Decimal points makes it (...) (17 years ago, 10-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)
