Re: Would this be Legal to do?

(...) First, I am not a lawyer. Are you sure, I thought the Official parts were under the OPL: (URL) would be a real blow to know that the community effort on parts was then boxed up and the community denied the right to redistribute and modify (two (...) (18 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Making parts: circles

(...) The primitive generator ((URL) can also be used to create rings of any inner diameter. Generated rings (as opposed to edges) always have a width of 1LDU, so a ring with an inner diameter of 8LDU has an outer diameter of 9LDU. While this seems (...) (18 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Making parts: circles

(...) I'm not sure there's one place to go for help. You should probably start by reading the LDraw file format spec on ldraw.org. After that, you pretty much need to dive in and start playing around with some files. However, I can tell you that 1 (...) (18 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** SPAM *** MLCAD Mindstorm Category

(...) Several months ago, I customized MLCAD on my computer specifically for the MindStorms NXT set. I placed the pieces included in the NXT set in the "Favorites" category within MLCAD, positioning them according to category (i.e., electronic (...) (18 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Making parts: circles

I apologize if this is a oft asked question: but where is the best place to learn how to create a non-official part? I'm specifically looking to make rings of specific inch/mm sizes. What I found on LDraw seemed to go over my head, nor can I figure (...) (18 years ago, 29-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Would this be Legal to do?

Well actually... You could legally include a copy of the ldraw parts archive that pre-dates the license that all the authors had to agree to and then have your install script look for newer parts, if it detects an Internet connection... (...) (18 years ago, 28-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Would this be Legal to do?

(...) Hi Ryan, Sorry to tell you but it would not be legal. The only site that can deliver the parts is (URL) At present there is no way around this. Tim (18 years ago, 28-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Would this be Legal to do?

I am working on a project for MLCad, which makes viewing and finding parts easier. I would like my work to be available for people to download, but it requires Ldraw, MLCad and official Ldraw parts files to be downloaded in a package. I would like (...) (18 years ago, 28-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Looking for Star Wars Base Plate

(...) If anyone has one of the cards that came with this baseplate/stand handy, would you mind posting the dimensions? I can't get to mine right now to measure, and I can't tell from bricklink just how tall they are. Thanks, Andy (18 years ago, 28-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** SPAM *** MLCAD Mindstrom Category

(...) Tony you are correct that not all the "old or new" mindstorm set parts are in the lDraw library but something is better than nothing. =) Also Dave (last name espaces me right now) did provide a good way of "grouping" the parts. They can be (...) (18 years ago, 28-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** SPAM *** MLCAD Mindstrom Category

(...) That is true but remember that this is for a classroom that wil only use the MINDSTROM parts so updates to the LDraw library will be of no concern to them unless a new MINDSTORM part is included. Thinking of this what we really need is an (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LDraw Java Applet?

Jeffrey, I have actually been working on a Javascript, AJAX and SVG based browser 3d Object viewer. Its not quite ready for prime time, but it means you do not get the associated Java start up time, plus it is very responsive. I will be demoing it (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

RE: *** SPAM *** MLCAD Mindstrom Category  [DAT]

The obvious problem with this is that, when the library is updated, all the edits will be over-written Creating a series of "m" shortcuts may be better, eg 0 MINDSTORM Brick 1 x 2 0 Name: m3004.dat 0 Author: LDraw Community 1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

  LDraw Java Applet?

I'm sure people have thought of this before, but it would be really nice to have an LDraw Java Viewer developed, so that models could be viewed in a web page. I imagine it could fetch the part files from LDraw.org, or, even simpler, have a utility (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Looking for Star Wars Base Plate

(...) Sorry, I don't know the part number, but I have a tip. When I'm looking for a part that I don't know the name to, I'll look up the inventory for a set that has that part. That usually does the trick. Good luck! -Bryan (18 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)
