Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

(...) Looks good but you need to trim down your decimals and get rid of trailing zeros. 3 decimal places are fine for most situations. -Orion (19 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Error message

(...) Hi David, rect3.dat is a primitive which should have been put in your LDRAW\P directory. Check that directory to make sure it is there and has that file. If not, you should download the latest official parts file from here (URL) will need (...) (19 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Error message

I get the error message "rect3.dat not found continue loading Yes/No". It doesn't matter what I select I still get lots of these messages. I haven't got this file in my directory. What have I done wrong, is there something I haven't downloaded? (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

(...) Don't make a separate file for x784s01, just put that code in the main x784.dat. Steve (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

(...) Oops. You are right, the inner ring fell off of the x784s01.dat part somehow. I'll fix that. (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Finding a rotation matrix for a triangle

Thanks for the formula Anders Do you have any idea on how to convert it to the vector type used in MLcad? (xyz+angle)? Cheers NB (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

(...) I wasn't sure how to handle primative paths. I'll try it without a path and see if it works. The internal rings are attached to the fin in the x784s01.dat sub-part. That sub-part is really sort of a cross secton of everything except the teeth, (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

To make the Hailfire Gear, I modeled one segment with one fin in 3DS Max. I exported it with the script I previously posted. Then, I spun the segment around with the following code. I also spun in 168 teeth from the gear tooth primative. // Hailfire (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part: 41530 Propellor 8 Blade 5 Diameter

(...) I'd recommend taking a balanced approach to nested sub-filing. A 48x48 area of studs could be NSF'ed to 22 lines of code, but would require 10 very trivial subfiles. This trades one kind of complexity (lots of code lines) for another kind of (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

(...) Thanks a lot! Many people including me waited for this part... I have a few problems with it though: - The first subpart has a wrong download name (lugnet.cad.dat.parts:5772), the name inside dat file is wrong too (0 Name: x784.dat0) - I don't (...)
