Small insight into LEGO CAD system

While at Brickfest, I met Dave Bird, a technic designer for LEGO. He is a very nice guy, and a pleasure to spend time with. We talked about many things, but one that really got my attention was talking a bit about CAD. Dave wondered shy we had our (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad)

(...) I realy don't know what to say now .... I'm overwhelmed .... I would like to say thank you to the Jessiman Family, and of course to everyone who has downloaded and used MLCad in the past. Without you the MLCad wouldn't be that what it is (...) (19 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: James Jessiman Memorial Award for 2005

Congratulations to Michael. Without MLCad I would not be making virtual models with the LDraw format. Thank you for all your work. Tim (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: James Jessiman Memorial Award for 2005

(...) And that is a very good choice! The LDRAW format plus MLCad has really spread 'virtual Lego building' around the globe. MLCad really makes *real* Lego CAD affordable and attainable for everyone! Congratulations Michael! Well deserved. (19 years ago, 15-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: attn Jake/TLC/whoever, about Lego Digital Designer file format/SDK

I've partially reverse-engineered the format, but since the libraries are incompatible (the 'rotation' point of brick in Ldraw formate is somewhere else than the rotation point in LDD library), you'd (...)   attn Jake/TLC/whoever, about Lego Digital Designer file format/SDK
