  Re: Converting Images to DAT?

(...) Dave!'s right about POV-Ray, the results will be far superior to what you get with BMP2DAT utilities. If you really want LDraw files of your stickers, your options depend on what format you used to create the stickers. And the style of the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Converting Images to DAT?

(...) How comfortable are you with POV-Ray? If you simply want to include the decal in a rendered image, and if you have a scan of the custom sticker, you could insert it directly into the POV-Ray file so that it's rendered along with the model. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Converting Images to DAT?

(...) You could try LDDP's BMP to DAT or the standalone BMP2DAT from Carsten Schmitz. -Orion (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Converting Images to DAT?

I am looking for advice on converting images (custom stickers) to .dat so I can add them to my models and render them with POV. I am hoping to gain some insight from the collective LUGNET expertise in this area. I have used LDAO's BMP to DAT (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: STL File for 3D Printing

(...) Dear Jason, I am also interested in getting an stl file of a 2x4 brick as well as a 4x4 plate. What I would really like is to create a 6"x6" or 12"x12" base plate out of 1/4" acrylic plexiglass (or hardrock maple) for a project I have in mind. (...) (...) Alll: Could somebody please tell me where the BFC documentation is? I've read the specifications at LDraw.Org and I see no mention of it. -Wayne (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: is leocad not developed any more?

(...) Well, the last message from Leonardo Zide (the developer) is from January. There hasn't been an update for over a year so it looks like it. I think he's simplt too busy on the moment.........   Re: Brick 1x1  [DAT]

I think the other explanations have been very good, but if you're still having a hard time visualizing it, take a look at the attached DAT.   Re: Brick 1x1

  Brick 1x1

Hello. I'm trying to understand how the 1x1 brick (3005.dat) is drawn. It contains 1 stud.dat two box5.dat (I have not really found out what that is yet), and it contains 4 Quadrilateral commands. The thing right now is how the quadrilateral things (...) (20 years ago, 3-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Status of BFC

(...) Some part authors have been making major advances in getting the official library BFC compliant - notably Guy Vivan has been submitting BFCed files almost daily in recent months.   Re: complete parts package?

(...) Yes, part of the reason for the recent license discussion is the combining of the 2 distros into one. -Orion (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Status of BFC

(...) I'll be supporting it in the next major LDView version (3.0). I really don't have an estimated completion date for this at the moment, but I at least hope to have it out before the end of the year. There could be minor LDView updates before (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: complete parts package?

(...) Note that this is due to license constraints. I believe removal of this requirement is being worked on by either the SteerCo, the LSC, or both. --Travis (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
