  LDRAW Updates: Documentation Plan

(...) Thanks, Steve. I use MLCAD, so I'll run that routine. If folks who know of post-update processing requirements acn send them to me, I'll create and contribute a generic instruction document. Paul Sinasohn LUGNET #115 BAYLUG/BAYLTC (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: License Intent

What follows is my personal reply not offical position of SteerCo. (...) I agree. We missed this goal, and it is indeed important. (...) True. And sort of false. Sometimes (take the change in the 9V train wheelset recently) there is a need to have (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Re: Povray boatwake

(...) Nice water. (...) Have been working on this. I am trying to animate a podracer with simulated dust kicking up behind the engines. Would be very close to water spray. I have been working with "while" loops to simulate this. I need to do some (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: Povray boatwake

(...) Very impressive! Can you do it all with Pov-Ray? ;) (...) Yep - it's too shiny. Turn down the reflectiveness and it'll be perfect. Maybe a little motion blur would be cool too. I know you can do that with MegaPOV (the unofficial patched (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: ANIMATED SPLINE

Here is a section of code: #declare HOSEANIMATE_dot_ldr = union { // Untitled // Name: HOSEANIMATE.ldr // Author: MLCad // Unofficial Model // ROTATION CENTER 0 0 0 1 "Custom" // ROTATION CONFIG 0 0 object { _4274_dot_dat matrix (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad)

  ANIMATED SPLINE

Here is a test animation of a flex hose. Used a spline for the path of the hose. (URL) I am really starting to like splines. Enjoy Steve (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Povray boatwake

(...) Fantastic. Could be my monitor, but I get the feeling of the water is just about to freeze. It looks a little like this state just between liquid and solid. /Tore (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: License Intent

(...) The license draft included in my post was merely done to demonstrate that the language needed to license the people described is possible. I've condensed most of my points, and some new ones, into a new post that I've posted in reply to the (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: License Intent

This is post to sum up my ideas before I pop off on holiday for a few days. 1) Consider making the license apply to more than just parts or the parts library. This would allow things like documentation or software to be distributed too. 2) I would (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  high res bushlocks?

I think that the bushlock primitves should be updated to align with the 48 segment primitves. What do others think? (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Part name recognition in MLCad?

Hi Dave, I think you have the Stud-Mode option set to Coarse in MLCad. Change this to Normal and you will see the correct studs. This option set to Coarse will replace all stud*.dat primitives with stu2*.dat wich are low-res and thus rendered (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Part name recognition in MLCad?

While viewing my inventory of some, let us say, "custom" parts, I noticed that certain primitives are not completely recognized in MLCad's display window. Specifically, I've made a primitive called "stud2cl.dat" that MLCad omits from the displayed (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: Ideas for next MOTM contest

Re: WARNING: Re: Ideas for next MOTM contest

(...) Super! But, what happened to the stud logos? The tiling doesn't mess them up somehow, does it? That would look sooo good with bump mapped stud logos. ;^) Don (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Re: Baseplate generator program

(...) I think that it's a good idea. There is a built-in part genereator in SimLego too, but the parts it generates are far from today's LCad standards, and the SimLego source code is forever lost. A third way to go would be to write an LDraw Script (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)
