Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) The latest version of LDView lets you specify latitude and longitude coordinates for the camera on the command line (very similar to the L3P camera globe command line argument). So, for example, the default camera view would be like so: (...) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Part request: Cone 4 x 4 x 3  [DAT]

(...) I've got one of those from that set. Here's a hideous unofficial mock-up of the part. The inside has one big tube like the 4742 and a few ridges, but I didn't model them because I'm a lousy part maker. 0 Cone 4 x 4 x 3 0 Name: x483.dat 0 (...)   Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) As long as I can specify global camera coordinates (or something equivilent), I'd consider using LDView. -Orion (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) As I was the one asking last time, I suppose it's my turn to reveal the secret: www.ldraw.org click 'Contests' then select 'SOTM' :-) or direct link (URL) Isaksson, Sweden BlockCAD: (2 URLs) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) Err, I forget. How do we look at them if we've already voted? Thanks, Don (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) Being a broadband user, I tend to prefer bigger, but I can also understand that this would lead to an uncomfortably long page load time for people who don't have broadband. To be perfectly honest, all the models this month are big enough in (...) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) Hmm, I forgot to make the links and tables borderless. I'll make a mental note of that for next month's contest (...) I thought about this. I foresaw a potential problem with only one picture displayed: people who vote for a model who don't (...) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) IMO there's not much to criticize. But as you're asking ... Maybe ... ... the models should not go all the way to the edges of the thumbnails, now that there are black borders? ... the black border should be blue, just like all other links? (...)   Re: Link to reference, please!

(...) It took several minutes to find it. This is the link I mean: (URL) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Link to reference, please!

I think it would be a great idea to put a link to the primitives reference that is somewhere on lugnet or ldraw.org at the web interface page of this group. ( (URL) ) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) Excellent. Nice clear views at a good angle. The orthographic camera is fine, although I wouldn't object to a little bit of perspective, and the outlining of the bricks gives a good indication of construction technique. All up, a big (...)   Re: April Model and Scene of the Month Contest Winners

(...) I'd like to solicit any critiques regarding the batch of renderings for May's MOTM contest. Thanks. -Orion (20 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Lsynth thoughts.

(...) Yes, the hose color is specified in the LSYTH BEGIN line. I like the new constraint. I'm in favor of it replacing the original LS00.DAT. (...) Kevin (20 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Part request: Cone 4 x 4 x 3

As I was building set 358 Rocket Base in MLCad I noticed that the Cone 4 x 4 x 3 ((URL) does not exist, not even on the PT. I also want to build trainset 725 in MLCad, which also uses this cone. As I don't own this part myself I can not create it. (...) (20 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Just a post to say I'm working on this. William (20 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Lsynth thoughts.

(...) Oh yeah, before I forget. I hardcoded the transparent white just to illustrate the axis and the bullseye inside the part. I really think it should be coded in color 16. Then when used, it should be inserted with any transparent color. That way (...) (20 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Patterns suck!

(...) IMHO a mosaic can't replace true vectors or poligons. regardless of the resolution you will still need an obcene amount of quads to define the shapes. it won't be the giant leap but it would be the small step if the LSC could with a new (...)
