  Improved minifig heads  [DAT]

Is there any interest in improving the minifig heads by using torus primitives? For some of the patterned heads, where there is printing on the curved section, it would be somewhat difficult, but most of them could be fixed pretty easily. Andy 0 (...)   Accuracy of curved surfaces

I have a parts-author question. I am working on 'Electric Train 12V Brick 2 x 4 with Power Pickup' (Step 8 in: (URL) part contains some curved surfaces that cannot be done with primitives (very odd angles, like 41.112 degrees, 36.082 degrees and (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mac Brick CAD 2.2b1 New Release

Great stuff Jim, where possible I'll answer interspersed with your comments (...) I've noticed this too on some bricks. It has to do with the fact that some parts use negative scaling when drawing some primitives. Both OpenGL and LDRAW can handle (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Business trip to Silicon Valley

Hi, I'll be in the SF Bay area through Monday, and was wondering if anyone wanted to get together and talk LEGO?   Re: Should *all* studs use a STUD primitive?

(...) ... I was high that day? ... no, that seems pretty unlikely ... I think these should all be changed. Some/most would probably be candidates for the special STUD.DAT notation (ie, all caps), to signify no stud-as-line rendering. Steve (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Povray with LGEO changes part 3464 into 3461

When trying to render set 386 using LGEO I noticed that the wheels with stub axles (part 3464) were replaced with helicopter rotors (part 3461). I find some postings about this dating 2 years ago. Is there a solution or workaround for this already? (...) (21 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Naming Technic Liftarms

(...) Well the only problem that I have with that is that I don't think "beam" describes the short ones (1x2, 1x3) as well as "liftarm", (which I agree also isn't the perfect name).
