  Re: dragon parts

Hi Bernd, The part looks nice so far, but L3P check complains a lot for non-coplanar quads, and there are three quads with bad vertex order. Philo (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  [ANN] LdGLite Launcher .82

I have released LdGLite Launcher .82. What is new: The all important ICON! You can now specify the ldglite binary path. The filenames are displayed instead of the paths. LdGLite .95f. (URL) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  LDMC site moved AGAIN. :-)

It is official and live: (URL) skippy! If no one cares, I am going to change the name to LDMC -- LDraw Mac Community. I'll slowly redo the site to reflect that it is a community now instead of a campaign. We're a community, right?.... right?..... (...)   Re: L3PAO error

dragNdrop (Was: Ldglite must be faster)

(...) Let me clarify this. I think I have drag-N-drop from Windows Explorer under control. That uses WM_DROPFILES messages and the protocol is described on the internet. I'll have to see what I can do when someone drags a whole list of part files (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Weird Logo Issue at L3P Quality Level 3

(...) [snip] Yes, that would certainly work. And for correct alignment of studs, it will sometimes be the only answer. For example, some parts (30373 is one of them) use mirror symmetry to create a subpart that is a fraction (like 1/4 or 1/8) of the (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Weird Logo Issue at L3P Quality Level 3

(...) No, flattening everything wouldn't be a workable solution. We had some of that (quite awhile ago). It was scary. (...) Ah. Yeah, if the macros are only evaluated once, that wouldn't work either. I'm not sure how L3P performs the translation (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Weird Logo Issue at L3P Quality Level 3  [DAT]

(...) How many parts have this mirroring? I expect that the 4x8 wings are an example. Would it be possible to recreate the basic wing, without studs, as a sub-part, and then invoke it in the two actual wing files? The studs could be added in the (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Excellent rendering...

(...) According to the L3P page, it does. However, this might not work with LGEO colors. --Travis Cobbs (tcobbs@REMOVE.halibut.com) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Ldglite must be faster

(...) Ah. (...) Hmm. Probably not raw keystrokes, but possibly sending messages at keyboard speed. I was basically thinking of anything an editing program might need done for rendering (and interaction) services. XML-RPC would be asynchronous (I (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Weird Logo Issue at L3P Quality Level 3

(...) I believe that Lars agrees with you regarding the fact that we can't expect parts not to use mirroring. However, based on his knowledge of POV, fixing this would require a complete change in the way L3P works. It would have to internally (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  L3PAO error

I just installed L3PAO and I keep getting an error when starting up that "POV-Ray could not be verified." I have reintalled POV-Ray 3 times now. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Mark M (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Excellent rendering...

(...) All it really needs is some way to adjust things like the reflectivity of the tires-- they're kinda shiny, which shows off the splines, unlike the rendering with Brazil... The only giveaway on the Brazil model I could spot right off was the (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)
