Re: Strange thing with part 30179

(...) No, I don't think changing the stud mode from course to normal in MLCad will affect LDraw or LEdit. MLCad stores it's settings in the Windows Registry. -Orion (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Old MS-DOS shell for Ldraw wanted (Ldl)

(...) Is this what you're looking for? (URL) what sort of graphics card do you have on the DOS pc? If it has a 16bpp VESA mode you might be able to use the DOS version of ldglite. I'm not sure why you'd want to do that unless you like to spin the (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

Old MS-DOS shell for Ldraw wanted (Ldl)

Hello all, I've installed Ldraw/Ledit on an old MS-DOS based computer, and now I'm looking for a very old program (I believe it was called Ldl.exe or Ldl.com) that acts as a MS-DOS shell program. It made generating input for the command line driven (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Strange thing with part 30179

(...) It depends on a number of factors (machine speed, numbero of visible stud, etc...) but I guess the overall effect would be a slow down. I haven't noticed a marked change on my machines (P4, P3, P1). Also, this will only affect MLCad, not (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: When Did Tiles Get Their Groove?

(...) Yes. I thought about changing all the other tiles to match this one. :) (Most of the patterned tiles don't include the "with groove" notation, because they only exist in one form. And we can usually use those characters for better descriptions (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Site update

Hi all, I've updated my LD4DModeler site with a newer version of the simple project Tutorial (improved thanks to Ahui Herrera), a PDF Version of the tutorial and some info about upcomming Beta 3 (including a little test animation I did). The places (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad)

Re: I have some ideas / suggestions for all programmers

I understand where you're coming from, but I personally feel that the registry does have its place, if used properly. Mind you, most programs don't use it properly in my opinion. LDView uses the registry to remember your settings, and to remember (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: When Did Tiles Get Their Groove?

(...) Isn't the style for the other grooved tiles "with Groove", not "Grooved"? I think it would make more sense to call the other one "Tile 2 x 2 with Black Circle Pattern without Groove", since a) the grooveless tiles are more "exotic" and b) as a (...)   Re: When Did Tiles Get Their Groove?

(...) Due to this information, I have deleted the unofficial, "~Moved to 3068bp17" version of 3068p17.dat from Parts Tracker. And I changed the title of 3068bp17.dat to "Tile 2 x 2 Grooved with Black Circle Pattern". Steve (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: I have some ideas / suggestions for all programmers

(...) Another positive side-effect of not using the registry is if you have to move the folder that all your LDraw related tools are stored in, you dont have to dig through the registry to fix all the path names. I had to do this and it was a big (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: I have some ideas / suggestions for all programmers

(...) Another good thing is that it's much easier just to copy the ldraw.ini file from one installation to another than try to go through the huge registry file and search for LDraw related info. Thus I, for example, get all the viewing angles I (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: *** LDView Version 1.9.5 Released ***

Re: I have some ideas / suggestions for all programmers

Re: Strange thing with part 30179

(...) When using "Coarse" mode for rendering studs in MLCAD, any reference to a file like stud*.dat is replaced with the matching stu2*.dat. This method comes directly from ldraw's -FS drawing mode. :) To fix the problem, you should download (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
