  Re: Overlapping quads/triangles for patterns

(...) If the join points are modeled to be the same, there shouldn't be any visible gaps between the polygons. However, it could be that they will be there in some modeling/viewing apps. And, even in your "X" and "+" exaples, noise might be apparent (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Work-in-progress improved minifig arm

(...) Thanks (and thanks to others who commented, too), I'll continue with the more difficult sections. The new arm part is orientated with its axis of rotation at y=0, z=0, so to test in different positions you'll need to rotate the new part about (...)   Re: Work-in-progress improved minifig arm

Wow- that's beautiful! I'm very glad to see this- I didn't really *want* to do the part myself, but it seemed to need doing. I'll try fiddling with it in various positions. It's great to have a center of rotation that actually works. Are you (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Import new bricks into LeoCAD

Hi A few days ago a new update with LDraw bricks was released. How can I get these bricks into LeoCAD? I'm using LeoCAD 0.73 under MS Windows 98. I tried the Library Piece Manager and than Import Piece. and selecting an LDraw .dat file I get a (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: New Part: x727 - Trailer 4 x 16 Ramp

(...) Mail me a list of the old parts you mean, and I'll see what I can do. I can't promise a quick response, but I bet that I can find one of just about anything around here. I have a friend in the area who is a very serious collecter of old stuff. (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: New Part: x727 - Trailer 4 x 16 Ramp

(...) Hmm. I'm not sure. My first thought is "honorary reviewers" or "era specialists". If you know of people who've got the parts in question, and they are willing to spend some time reviewing them, we can certainly take their input. Even if they (...)   Re: New Part: x727 - Trailer 4 x 16 Ramp

(...) FWIW, I didn't take your response to Don as childish. You brought up a very valid point. Some responses to your parts that have been "improved" by others: (...) I believe the same thing happened to *all* 3070 parts. The file was not updated (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: How do you do this in pov-ray?

(...) Replace "Lookat" with "clock", then render it with a starting clock of 1 and a final clock of 4, in four frames. Fredrik (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Parts Tracker] Re-numbering "Star Wars" patterns...

(...) :p That animation is older than the minifig parts. As is the animated file on this page: (URL) (well, ok, that is older than *some* of the minifig parts). Steve (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Part x176

(...) Hey Ross: sorry I didn't really get the point of your email -- I was in a rush, and didn't look at the parts. Otherwise, I would have said then, what I'm going to say now. Do *not* use the Peeron 'x' numbers as the basis for LDraw parts! The (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Problems submitting upadeted versions of official parts?

(...) Actually, I have to say, Mark's been pretty darn patient. :) But thanks for sticking up for me and the parts tracker. Steve (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Firelogo

(...) Yes, it would be better if the firelogo was a subpart, so it could be reused. The main problem with 4209p01 is it is coded poorly. As you said, the pattern is setup like a sticker. The files should be modified - the printed area should be (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Work-in-progress improved minifig arm

(...) This looks very promising! :) Any chance you're going to recurve the inner surface around the shoulder? It would really help avoid that "CGI intersecting solids" look that we've had going. :) Also, can I reserve judgement as to whether we (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Problems submitting upadeted versions of official parts?

(...) Thanks. When I didn't get any response from the magnet and didn't see it in the tracker I was worried that it didn't get through. What were the problems with it? I also sent in 2560 some time ago and am now submitting a 3647. (23 years ago, 29-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
