2618.dat Aquanaut Bubble Base (Updated, Again)  [DAT]

One question: The hollow studs on the outside rim couldn't be modeled with primitives above a certain level. Therefore if you look at them with LDView you see a smooth cylindar for the top and a 16 sided cylindar for the rest, due to primitve (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 2618.dat Auqanaut Bubble Base (Updated)

oh shoot, thanks for pointing that out for me Burkhard. I concentrated so much on getting them in the part, I didn't even notice that they stick above. 2 quick fixes on the way. Also what's the standard for orientation, so I get it right In my next (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Question about a new kind of stud

(...) I replied to your posting of the ring file. (...) Good question. :) (...) Since it is a stud, I'd say you should post stud9.dat as a primitive. But replace ring2a.dat with the two-line construction I posted in my earlier message. Also, if you (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: New primitive: Ring 2 Small Hole  [DAT]

(...) There's a problem with this. In LDraw-world, "Ring X" is shorthand for "a ring with inner radius = X and outer radius = (X+1)". Your ring has IR=1/3 and OR=1, right? I don't think there's any way a ring can be constructed so that 3*IR = OR (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Question about a new kind of stud  [DAT]

Hi, I'm modelling the following part: (URL) "Door 1 x 4 x 6 Frame", but this part has a different kind of stud: (URL) I didn't find this stud in the primitives directory, so, I start modelling it.   Re: 2618.dat Auqanaut Bubble Base (Updated)

I have another problem with this part, beside the strange rotation angle: The hollow studs at the upper rim should stick out, just as much as normal studs, but they don't. Or is it just me ..? (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Requesting another plug-in for LDDesignPad

(...) Make a one line file for each of them that scales by 0.64, and then use the inliner to pass the scale through to the part. eg. Make this: 1 16 0 0 0 0.64 0 0 0 0.64 0 0 0 0.64 knexpart.ldr Then run an inliner and save the results. (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: P and Parts directory WHY?

(...) I felt sure that this info should be in the FAQ somewhere, but I couldn't find it easily. The main reason is historical - it is the way that James organised the files for the original LDraw/LEdit programs. But it does serve to segregate DAT (...) (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)
