Re: 3D Myst III viewer of a castle

(...) Since this was so popular, I decided to re-render it with aliasing, and fix the links so they were not on the seams. Nothing major, hardly even worth going back to look, unless you are curious. -Chuck (23 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Reinstalled l3pao

Re: New and kinda-new stickfig mecha wallpaper and stuff

(...) Heh heh thanks. :-, I was wincing a bit about that -- it almost looks like the cheesy sfx they used on the old Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica shows. But we all love cheese... (...) Awesome, thanks for the feedback. This is exactly what I (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.publish, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New and kinda-new stickfig mecha wallpaper and stuff

(...) Thanks, I modeled that landscape using nothing but MegaPOV. The shape of the ground is a heightfield based on the pattern image type, and the texturing is accomplished using slope-dependent textures. The source for the scene can be found at (...)   RGB Coding in LDraw?

Is there a way to hard-code a color value in a .dat file using RGB values, so that the part will render in POV-Ray using those values? If so, what's the format? In addition, is it possible to code color qualities, like reflectiveness, into a .dat (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: New Box Design

(...) Now this is the type of news I LOVE to hear! Viewing .dat files is nice, but I'd rather try making them than viewing them. Keep up the great work! -Dave (23 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: 3D Myst III viewer of a castle

(...) Actually, its a Java applet thing. On my web page, the applet, and all the images are in the same directory as the html file. If you are interested in this type of thing, be sure to check out the web page where I got the applet. (URL) is (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad)

Re: 3D Myst III viewer of a castle

I must say this is very impressive. I haven't posted in quite a while, but this was too good not to reply to. Great Work!! I would love to be able to do this for some of my fire stations. I look forward to seeing more on this. Ryan (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: animation help

Gary, thanks that worked and it's the most simplistic method of creating high quality renderings of each step. I noticed pov-ray ingnores mlcad rotation steps. Does it also ingnor buffer exchahges? Is there an easy way (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: New Box Design

(...) Hey Todd, Just a quick note to let you know that thanks to some recent legwork by James Reynolds (my cohort in LDMC (URL) we're finally a couple of steps closer to or hope of a Mac based editor. We'll post more info when it's available. Matt (23 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

Re: Some problems with parts in ML-CAD

(...) After you download COMPLETE.EXE, did you execute it? If you executed it, did you execute it in the right location (usually from C:\>, not C:\LDRAW> )?
