  Re: Various Questions . . .

(...) That's ok. We were all new once. (...) That's not uncommon. There are a lot of parts that are not made yet. (...) For right now, you can make a request here. Sooner or later, we'll have a part-request system on the ldraw.org website, as a (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

(...) I may still be confused slightly. From that article I gather that no printer (professional printing device) cares about anything above 200 LPI. The article further claims that one would generally want to print from an image 2 times the desired (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray)

3010p20c.dat Brick 1 x 4 with Town Car Chrome Grille  [DAT]

I've always wanted this part with chrome printing. Now that most Lego CAD programs support chrome (color 383) I thought I'd fix one up. BTW, can anyone point me to the parts tracker so I can submit this? Will Bricksburg Fire Department: (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Fluorescent Lights

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully created what looks like fluorescent lights. I have tried inserting area lights, but the shadows created were too harsh; it just looked like incandescent lighting. I also tried the looks_like (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Selling MOC Instructions? Your Thoughts?

Re: From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

Steve, I can explain better using black and white printers; for color, just add four times the explanation. For a monochrome printer, there is a tradeoff between lpi and grayscales. If you have a 600 dpi printer, and you chose a 600 lpi screen, you (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

I have been pondering this point for years, but don't know much about the half toning for CMYK ink mixing algorithms. Is this something you know about? Can you share some more info and or links to pages that explain the difference between printer (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: L3P user primitive substitution

(...) [snip] (...) [snap] (...) Nod, right. INCLUDE has been mentioned before, in other contexts, and I'm generally in favor of it. But I'd rather discuss that in a separate thread - IF[N]DEF/ELSE/ENDIF wouldn't depend on INCLUDE. (although, for (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDraw on Windows 2000?

(...) MLCad and LeoCAD both work on Win2k without any problem. So does LDView, LDLite, L3Lab, and a few others (not going to take time to list them all). If you want to use LEdit with Win2k, go to Start>Run. Type 'command' and the DOS prompt comes (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: 3069pxx.dat Tile 1 x 2 with Dials Pattern

(...) Hmm. Would 'Tile 1 x 2 with Dashboard Pattern' work? Or 'Tile 1 x 2 with Dials and Arrows Pattern'? (...) I don't think this pattern has appeared on another part, and there isn't really anything analogous. Steve (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  LDraw on Windows 2000?

Does anyone know if LDraw will function properly on Windows 2000? I was going to install it on a system running Windows 2000, but no mention is made of LDraw working with newer Operating Systems. -- John Eric Voltin (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

What kind of extraordinary printer do you have ???   MLCad Bug(s)

Michael - When you go into the new parts dialog (key shortcut I) and select 'custom part,' the open file dialog doesn't support .LDR. It only allows MPD and DAT, so you have to key in *.ldr manually to view LDR files. Also, I have another problem, a (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
