  Re: Sorting parts by location

(...) Well I am sort of doing that right now, although not in perl. I chose to use my company's product, sort of as a learning exercise. If someone has perl code that recognises the various line types that would be spiffy. If you have the formula (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: 8880 parts

Having just recently searched through all 20,000+ posts in the lugnet.cad archive, it was more than a little frustrating to find that these parts (2997 and 2998) that have been asked for repeatedly always result in people being referred back to (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Sorting parts by location

(...) No, I don't know of any utility. (...) You could hack up a Perl script which computes the euclidian distance between the viewing point and the origin of each individual part, and concatenates this number to the beginning of each part line. (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDGLite bug report (yes, one more)

I added some depth-queuing to LDLite, with a simple fade-to-black as you get away from the camera, in the hopes that it would let the green trees stand out from the green baseplates: (URL) anyone find this useful? -gyug (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: idea for next version, include ttore boxes

(...) I'm not realy aware of this thing, but it sounds like replacing normal parts by boxes in order to reduce drawing time?! Maybe I should tell you some tricks for MLCad now, since I've introduced a new rendering code in MLCad V2.00 which speeds (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Model generator from pictures

(...) Hi, it's supposed to be working, but silly me, I've introduced a code line for testing another thing which is causing this failure. For now you can only load 24bit bmp's with a width and height multiple of four! I've already corrected this (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

new site on converting LDraw buildings to Sim City 3000 Unlimited Building Architecht Plus

I've made a new site on how to convert LDraw-made renderings to SC3K_URK (Sim City 3000 Urban Renewal Kit) or BAP (Building Architecht Plus). I'll repost when I get it up online. (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

New - model of an old fortress converted to modern  [DAT]

Here's a new model I've made of an old armory with a stable/carriage house underneath that has been converted to a modern police station. The roof is crap, but then my real model at home doesn't have a roof. Once I figure out how it should be done, (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Lets ad to our Lego dir an icon...

(...) bookmark the site, or drag the icon (in the address bar, next to the URL) to your desktop. I have to say though, this functionality only seems to stick around for a short time and then disappears and then suddenly reappears...very buggy. Cool, (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Lets ad to our Lego dir an icon...

Here's a url to a tutorial site that shows you how to accomplish the same for your webpages in Internet Explorer. I think Lugnet should have one! One of those triangles would look great in my address bar and favorites menu. (...) (23 years ago, 28-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: What Part is this ?

Cool. Thanks. I guess it didn't look right to me in MLCAD (too round compared to Austin's pics), but then I realized that L3P probably substituted some primitives and sure enough that's the right one once it's run through L3PAO and POV. Thanks guys (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.space)

Lets ad to our Lego dir an icon...

I found how to ad custom icons to any dir here is how to: open notepad.exe and paste this [.ShellClassInfo] IconFile=c:\lego\any...eordllfile IconIndex=0 and save it as desktop.ini in the dir that you want to change the icon then set the properties (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

  LDraw.org MOTM/SOTM voting SUSPENDED

Hi all, I need to temporarily suspend voting on the motm/sotm. Sorry for the inconveniance, but ldraw.org is being moved to a new server, and the voting pages kinda got left off. I started the voting pages at exactly the wrong time - when Jacob was (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: September LDraw.org MOTM/SOTM voting ready

(...) Actually, we will have to suspend voting till this gets sorted out. Going to ldraw.org\motm\ now shows the pre-vote page with no access to the voting pages. So until we get the new server up and running, we will have to pause the voting. -- (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Wanted: Mindstorms parts

(...) Do you mean this one? (URL) It's one of the worst-named parts in the LDraw library. Right down there with 2880 (Hinge Train Cantenary Holder) and 2433 (Lever Control). Steve (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anybody up to the lego soccer ball?

(...) There's one at (URL) worked on this awhile ago, probably should submit it as a "Needs Work" part - the borders between the white areas are just lines, they should be grooves. And there are no conditional lines between the facets. I thought (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Slope Brick 45 2 x 1 Without Center Stud  [DAT]

I had the need for a Slope Brick 45 2 x 1 Without Center Stud in a model, so I created it by removing the center stud. This is rather simple, but I thought I'd post it anyway... What would be the correct partnumber? I have named it 3040b. 0 Slope (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
