Re: next parts update ----> *when* ???

"Leonardo Zide" <leonardo@centroin.com.br> wrote in message news:3A896578.DD4083....com.br... (...) That's pretty much it. We all gotta get back settled at home and organized and then we'll work on it more. The people handling the parts update are (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where does a parts author go next?

(...) If that's your first part then it's a good idea to post it there for reviews and comments. After you think it's ready to be official, send it to partsref@ldraw.org. Leonardo (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LCAD for Risc-OS (was LCAD/LDraw.org Formal Organization)

(...) If you feel really brave, you could try to compile LeoCAD under RO. You'll need to have GTK installed and some other libraries but a guy was able to use it under on an Alpha so I think there's a chance you can get a complete editor for your (...)   Where does a parts author go next?

I have just finished making Tile 1 x 2 with Ice Planet Controls Pattern and I need to know what I do with it now. Do I send the file to lugnet.cad.dat.parts for review? Thanks, --Ryan E-mail: ryanjf@ifriendly.com Website: (URL) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Concerning first meeting of the LDraw group...

(...) I'm too tired to write a complete list of the subjects discussed now (10 hours flight from NY) but we basically talked about a license for the parts and how the LDraw.org organization will be formed. Leonardo (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: next parts update ----> *when* ???

(...) There won't be any more part updates as they were done previously, the basic idea is to be able to run a program that will check for new parts and download them automatically and have the complete.exe package updated at a fixed time interval.   Re: New Part - 4790 Ship's Wheel (Pirate ship steering wheel)

Great work! I'd say the part should be oriented differently, though. There is a long tradition of having round, wheel-like things oriented with the axle hole (or whatever) in the z-direction. I'd also say that the centre of the part should be in the (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) Hey, that would be great. I've added/ported quite a few nice features to ldglite since it was last compiled for the Mac. The cheesy file open dialog (in the GLUT menu) may require a bit of work for the Mac filesystem. I should probably clean (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: DAT to AutoCAD?

(...) I have a new version that uses a normal Ldraw instalation and is compiled to Win98/me, I didn´t have time to upload it to Geocities. If you want it email me and can send it directly. Paulo (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: DAT to AutoCAD?

Yes, it exists! You could find a windows utility, created by Paulo Caparica, that converts .DAT in .DXF in this site: (URL) .DXF to .DAT: I think thats is very difficult to do such utility. zanette. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: DAT to AutoCAD?

Thanks Duane. You'd think if a utility can be written to convert in one direction, you could write one to go the other way as well....hmmmm dare I take time away from trains to learn that much about .DAT files? I don't know. jt (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

  DAT to AutoCAD?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question. I couldn't find a FAQ for the CAD group. I was wondering if there is a utility that allows .DAT files to be converted to AutoCAD (i.e. DXF)? Also is there such a utility that allows the reverse to happen? (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Please don't quit. I hate being negative about my future, but I doubt the mac will get much attention from TLG. Especially with OS X. LDGLite is one of two choices for the mac (the other being BrickDraw3D). James (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)
