Re: DAT file for 'Adventurer' wheel

(...) Hi Guys! I believe the wheel you are talking about has been done by Fredrik Glöckner. I have it on my system as "spoked.dat" titled "Wheel Spoked Small". We have a few more newer primitives now that might make for a better rendered version. (...) (24 years ago, 21-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Interesting Minutia in 7146 Instructions

(...) Don't get me started on the Soccer sets. Anytime somebody asks about modeling the minifig hair, we can just point them to the Soccer instructions for examples of bad hair pieces. ;) (...) It wasn't pixelation. It was curved edges which were (...) (24 years ago, 21-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Special tools used to build/design parts?

(...) Time. Lots and lots of time. Time waiting for recruiters to call/write me back to let me know of the status of that "possible position" with whatever company. Time waiting for some HR person to call/write me back to let me know when (*IF*) I (...) (24 years ago, 21-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: DAT file for 'Adventurer' wheel

(...) (For future use, any request for help regarding DAT files, regardless of theme, should go to ".cad", 'cuz that's where all the CAD authors hang out. ;-) Hmmmm.... I just checked PARTS.LST; no dice. Nothing at Tore's parts tracker, either. (...) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Special tools used to build/design parts?

(...) The latest version of L3P does support POV commands that can replace the .DAT commands to give nice smooth curved surfaces while ray-tracing. Look here for examples: (URL) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Interesting Minutia in 7146 Instructions

(...) The error you noticed has also been seen last year in the initial release of the soccor sets... And probably a few others. LEGO has their own in-house 3D LEGO CAD program of sorts. It's pretty new. (And that's all I know about it) They used to (...) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Special tools used to build/design parts?

(...) I'd especially like to hear from Franklin "Mr. Prolific" Cain. Are you using some tool unknown to the rest of us, Franklin? (...) There's LDraw Add-On, which includes a text editor with some LDraw-related editing tools. And LDScript (with (...) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Special tools used to build/design parts?

(...) I'd like to add to Andy's call for info. I have to, he beat me to it :] My uninformed understanding is that parts are currently created by manuipulating text files, much like one could manually make POV-Ray files? But there is no GUI-type (ie, (...) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
