A few recommendation when using CAD -> convert program(ex:stl2dat) to modelise parts: - The tesselation paramater should be set so that a regular cylinder is output with 16 facets. In Solidworks, this is done by setting the minimum angle to 22.5 deg (...) (25 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) Thanks. Also thanks to Solidworks team for their powerful tool ! (...) Yes. The STL format says that the triangles must be CW, so of course stl2dat keeps this information. I did not yet add the BFC macro, I think I will add this for (...) (25 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I didn't know that about POV-ray. The only things I've rendered in it have been floating in space, so I've never tried something hovering over a reflective surface. Is the POV file available for download somewhere? I need a 1024x768 version for my (...) (25 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.cad.ray)
