My first model : a trailer for 8880, to carry 8422 motorbike  [DAT]

Here it's my first Dat model... It's a little trailer you can use with 8880 Supercar. It's made to carry 8422 motorbike. I must admit i had to use a little wire to fix 2739 technic Steering Link on the technic plate 2x4 with Hole, but it is the only (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

I too was just playing around and realized you can't "snap" any angle besides 3-D. Am I too missing something?? Brett (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: Argh! Need Help with POV-Ray

(...) Yes, it does indirectly. That error means that it sees something called "LG_WALL_WIDTH" in the file lg_2348.inc but it hasn't been told what this means yet. So you'll need to put something at the top of your POV file that will tell it what it (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LdLite 1.6.1 (maybe)

I downloaded, and tried it. Didn't seem to help IE5 much. Also, the "Save As" went a bit flaky, wouldn't reliably save files. Sorry I don't have more detail, I could work on it a bit more. Steve (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Organizing the LDraw CD-ROM

(...) You *don't* want to use a VB-based program as an installer. Before a VB program can run, all the VB-runtime files have to be installed. This means that the setup program has to install multi-megabytes of *system* files before the user sees (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: LDraw CD-ROM Project

(...) If we're going to talk money, we should - Decide on a name for the group - Pick some bylaws - Elect a treasurer Once we've got a treasurer, that person can obtain an account, and deal with collections and payments. Steve (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDraw CD-ROM Project

(...) The general public wouldn't know if it's a CD or CD-R. The only way to tell is (a) your obsolete CD drive can't read CD-R disks (b) you have a CD-R(W) drive or software which reports the type of the disc. Steve (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: ldglite (ldlite for OpenGL and Linux) new stuff

(...) Hmm. POV-Ray description files could possibly handle step-wise construction by playing with the timer (clock?), a feature used to produce animation files. I haven't played much with POV-Ray since I took up LDraw, especially not authoring (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: MLCad Parts Problems - Help!

(...) One possibility is that the update installed somewhere other than where it should have. Make sure there's a file 30363.dat file in the c:\ldraw\parts\ directory. If it's not there, search your hard drive for the file. If you find it, the other (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw to QuickTime was Re: Usefull little feature

I added transparency. You can see how it comes out rendered on a RAGE II+ (my original G3/233 or anything newer.) I took some pictures of 3823.dat (2x4x2 windscreen). And I accidentally made a 30% translucent Car.. the one you were complaining the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDraw to QuickTime was Re: Usefull little feature

(...) I didn't know how transparency is coded for in a DAT file so I didn't write any code to handle it--it would be simple enough to translate. A lot of polygons fail to reflect light because I was not sure about surface normals. My program just (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
