  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) Xposted to cad.mlcad Perhaps Michael L. could speak up about whether MLCad reads that file, what the proper superset of colors ought to be and other topics. (21 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) Bricksaic is using the ldconfig.ldr in it's directory but the problem with the unused colors seems to be that MLcad does not recognize the following colors: Reddish_Brown, Stone_Gray, Dark_Stone_Gray, and Dark_Green. there may be more colors (...)   My Girl

I've been a little burnt-out and unchallenged with sculptures recently and decided to try something I had no experience with... mosaics. Several ideas occurred to me. I was happy with the (URL) Grayscale Mosaics> I created and wanted to tackle (...) (21 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Error Diffusion Dithering in LEGO (ministeck) mosaics

Dither... schmither... :) (...) You talkin' to ME?! :) Just for fun, I took that image and converted it to mosaic form with the techniques I've been experimenting with. Instead of limiting the colors to the ones you did, I limited the colors to the (...) (21 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Would anyone like to help me with a grayscale mosaic?

(...) something like this---sort of "posterized". On this example, I find it cleans up some of the "clutter" that other dithers give. It also allows you to use some larger pieces than 1x1 as you'll get larger areas of a single colour. Your piece (...) (21 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) Larry, I looked into what you said and it is correct: Bricksiac is using the ldconfig.ldr file in it's installed directory and MLDraw is using a file named the same ldconfig.ldr in it's installed dirctory. Then if one of the other has a (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Would anyone like to help me with a grayscale mosaic?

Oh yeah... :) I couldn't really give any advice for creating your own. There are a few mosaic-making programs. You can try them and see if you really like one in particular's output. Seems some people like me have developed their own way to create (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Would anyone like to help me with a grayscale mosaic?

Michael, I enjoy a challenge. :) Using that image, here's what I came up with using my grayscale shading technique: (URL) Feel free to use the image. If you'd like to make this, I can give you the mlcad file or false-color instructions to make (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Would anyone like to help me with a grayscale mosaic?

First off, I would like to thank everyone for sharing all their knowledge and works of art here on lugnet. I've been reading about mosaics for a while now and think I'm ready to start my own project. I'm wanting to make a grayscale, 144 x 48, 1x1 (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) Yes, I have some problems I would like added ;] This program is great! I especially like some of the cool effects you can get with the "Nearest colour" dither. My suggestion would be to allow the user to zoom out (for those of us planning (...) (21 years ago, 29-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) I ran into this too while betatesting. If you were using, for example, MLCad, it might be a problem with the color definitions that MLCad is aware of. Bricksiac is getting its color info from the ldconfig.ldr file in the install dir, I think. (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) Download went great. (...) First, of all, I would like to say that I think this program is awesome. I have never done a mosiac but I was able to have a parts list in about 2 minutes. Very user friendly. I did find a few possible problems, but (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  Re: Bricksaic version 0.1.0

(...) Gorgeous! Bob, I've been planning out a program to do mosaics- but this blows my plans away! The only suggestion I would make is to allow the user to select the size of baseplates to use. 32x32 is usually cheaper, and a user might have a (...)   Bricksaic version 0.1.0

Hi all, I just finished a major update of Bricksaic. You can read about it and download it from here: (URL) Bricksaic is a program used to make LEGO mosaics. It is very simple to use. Just load you picture, select the colors in the palette, set the (...) (21 years ago, 27-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.announce) !!

Re: Examples for the mosaic enthousiasts.

After reading your questions and remarks, I decided to (slightly) change the page: "This is what you need to build it": it was a Works Datasheet, I changed it into a Word-document. Advantage: if you click the link now then it will simply open in (...) (21 years ago, 27-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Examples for the mosaic enthousiasts.

(...) hey maarten, I've printed a few of your "cameron diaz" mosaics and they look amazing on paper. I just opened them with excel so there shouldn't be a problem to convert them if you want to later. so what is ministech anyway? (is it lego (...)   Re: Examples for the mosaic enthousiasts.

(...) Wow! It looks great! I was wondering if you could tell me what sort of files my browser tries to download when I follow "this is what you need to build it" links. Thanks. -Elf- (URL) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Examples for the mosaic enthousiasts.

(...) Glad you like it. A .wks file is a Works Datasheet. I use Works (as part of my Windows XP) because I don't have Excel yet. If I ever get Excel I will replace all the .wks files with .xls files (if there's only text in the cells, they should (...) (21 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: Examples for the mosaic enthousiasts.

(...) Maarten, I have found your site very interesting and would like to try one of your smaller mosiacs (Nemo) but I am hesitant to download a .wsk file? Could you explain what program that is associated with? Thank you. Brian (21 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)
