This is the pattern. My intent is to do the interior of the
ship in light grey, and the exterior in dark grey and tan. It
should be possible; for the layout, machinery, and deck fittings,
I have a copy of Janusz Skulski's superlative _Heavy Cruiser Takao_
in my beloved library.
I may, however, need to go to a slightly smaller vessel because
of time and space constraints here in the apartment; if so, I'll
go with an Aoba or Furutaka type:

In both cases I'll go for the post-1942 pattern of the ship with
bonus AAA and "Rufe" floatplanes. I have reference for this in
Jentschura's _Warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy_; however I
shall have to base most of the routine fittings and internal sub-
division on those present on Takao/Atago/Maya/Chokai. There will
be compression; it can hardly be avoided. But I'm hoping to get
the compression scale down to 1:5 or less, because it messes up
the superstructures otherwise.
