Wait, is it too bright, or too dim? I'm a bit confused as to what
you're asking me.
But yeah, I've thought about the sheet styrene angle, and I decided
against it--I'm a purist at heart. It's hard enough for me to even
cut the straws, though that's intended for some models!

No. As with Friedrich der Grosse, the entire vessel will be 100%
LEGO. Megabricks = 8x16 dark grey bricks. I estimate that I need
about 135 total for the hull base--I'm not planning at this stage
to use baseplates, because I want the ship to open lengthwise as
well as in sections. I'm not sure what the ultimate result in terms
of hull stability will be, however.
Thanks for the feedback muchly--I'll see about image tweaking once
I know what it is you want. :)
