Nice plane, Ralph.  I know how tough camo is.  And the landing gear is
especially cool.  As a technic-impaired builder, I'd like to learn how you did
that.  Perhaps closeup photos and a blow-by-blow breakdown of the building
process would be possible?

Hi Leigh,
Thanks for the feedback. The camo was tough, but turned out okay.
I'm no hard-core Technic builder myself. I admire people who build cars with
working gearboxes and pneumatic engines or machines that can actually walk, for
instance. I use Technic in a supporting role (literally in case of the F-16),
more akin to the way it was used in Model Team sets and is used in Designer
sets. Among my MOCs the ones that involve the most technic are my front-loader

which includes a pneumatic system and my Peterbilt wrecker
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=155901
in which both one of the rear axles and the underlift can be raised and lowered
with a Technic system. That's about as complicated as my use of Technic tends to
get.
The landing gear on the F-16N is very straightforward. It doesn't have a fancy
system where you pull a lever and it retracts, or something similar. Instead has
to be folded manually. I did put two pictures of the gear on brickshelf:

but I am willing to make a few more over the weekend.

Cheers,
Ralph
