in theory you are right, however this solution won't help much in rough terrain,
as the idea of incorporating track with the vehicle is to be able to move
forward when there is no such thing as a flat surface.
What this calls for is the acceptable level of compromise between realistic look
and climbing ability. The cybermaster track is not the worst approach but
difficult to handle (I wouldn't even say it's too large, given that the other
available rubber tracks are too small). Best would certainly be something like
the old technic chain track, but with some degree of rubber coating. Yet another
custom part we will not see from LEGO I guess...

| (...) I own a set of these, and would happily say they are a bit oversize for this chaps requirement. I have tried to use them in robot builds myself, and have generally gone back to using six wheels after having traction problems, and watching (...) (18 years ago, 5-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)
