  Re: Three military vehicles

(...) Magnus, These are great, I know I've tried my hand at armored vehicles, and the balance between playability, scale, and functionality is so hard to get just right. You got there just right. The last one also reminds me of the Crusader cannon, (...) (18 years ago, 21-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Three military vehicles

(...) I'm glad you like it. (...) I missed the fact that there are two 'figs in the turret. Knowing that, I think you've done an excellent job. Just remember that panels are useful in so many different orientations... Jonesy tought me that. -Duane (18 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Three military vehicles

Duane, Thanks for responding, I'm a big fan of (and very inspired by) your motorized tank! (...) Nice work! The Bulldog and Badger both have two guys in their turrets and I got them as compact (narrow) as I could. The MCV turret is seven bricks wide (...)   Re: Three military vehicles

Marc, Good to see you online, thanks for your comments! (...) The turret on the Bulldog is in front of the motor, so there isn't much space to move it back without changing lots of stuff on the inside. The barrel was built to not extend beyond the (...) (...) <SNIP> (...) Great MOC! Have you though about trying to slim down the interior portion of the turret? I've done one slightly smaller here: (2 URLs) (18 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Three military vehicles

(...) Nice hatch for the driver. The car doors as the shield on the APC are simple but effective. I really like the green pyramid on the main gun, but it might look better if you moved it back a couple of plates and lengthened the rest of the (...)   Three military vehicles

Hello all, This past year I've taken a break from Castle-building and have taken on modern military style MOCs, many of which were inspired by my stint in the Norwegian Army almost ten years ago. Military MOCs often end up a little too big for the (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.announce.moc) !

  Re: motorized tank questions

Hi, Thanks for everyone for advice ad suggestions. (...) Usually the treads just don't find purchase, but I was up til 2am last night experimenting, and think I have figured out that by adding weight to the front of the chassis and suspension on the (...)   Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon

(...) Hi Magnus, It wasn't my intention to start a contest on who builds the best figher. As you say, it is always about balancing a number of sometimes conflicting requirements. In many cases, if you want something to be really nicely shaped, (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon

Hello, I can only echo sentiments there are some very nice fighter MOCs here and it's nice to see build.military get a little more activity of late. I used to build lots of fighter planes a lot as a teen, and while I don't think I ever approached (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

--SNIP-- (...) I'm not sure I agree that Lego is boxy however you use it. With good sculpting, SNOT and lots of revision it should be possible to get quite a smooth shape at the size you are using for this. This was a fairly (URL) quick build> of (...)   Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon

(...) Hi Mattias, Bryce's aircraft models are great and the Tomcat is one of my favorites. It is one of his favorites as well. I had seen your Tomcat based on Bryce's design on Brickshelf before. It looks very neat. Bryce has designed a B-1B bomber (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon

Hi Ryan and Ralph I think you both build great models of modern jets. Also good to see this group becoming more active. A question to both of you what scale do you aim for? (1 stud to 1 feet = 1:38 is what I want to use but my models tend to be a (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon

(...) Hi Ryan, Don't get me wrong. I have seen some other F-16s build in LEGO, and in many respects yours is the best. I to have been building with LEGO for about 20 years as well, and like you I value details and realism. I have to admit that (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Mini-fig scale F-16 Fighting Falcon

The entire fuselage of my F-16 was built around the front landing gear to make the jet (...) (18 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)
