  Re: VTOL Patrol Craft

(...) is different. (...) fins on the front look good too. (...) an airscoop on the bottom, F-16 style. (...) Cool neato! Overall, another great model from our resident Admiral! Rick (23 years ago, 9-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: VTOL Patrol Craft

I definitely like the landing gear. Simple to build, yet visually tasty. I also like the taper along the aft section of the body. I haven't figured out how to taper properly - yet. You and Rick seem to have a knack for pulling that off. -Duane (...) (23 years ago, 9-Oct-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

  VTOL Patrol Craft

Hi Everyone, I made a VTOL Patrol craft and snapped a few pics at the SEALUG meeting on Saturday. So have a look: (URL) is powered by two large turbofans atop the fuselage, and has a single internal fan that powers four thrust nozzles beneath. The (...)   Re: M1A1 Abrams

(...) He's smiling because he's plastic and he knows the tank won't really hurt him! :-). Or it could just be the way he's printed! Steve (23 years ago, 6-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build.military)

Why is this man smiling... (URL) Nice job Steven! Cheers, Ralph (23 years ago, 6-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build.military)

  M1A1 Abrams

My tank now has a proper site, I should have done it a while ago, but it's here now. You can find it at: (URL) (23 years ago, 6-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.jp, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: I'm "Screw"ed!

(...) Of premade parts, Larry's solution (the windmill fan) will probably look best. But if you're feeling adventurous, you might try to make one from a clutch of 3x3 plates with one round corner. I got a pretty good approximation of a ship screw (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: I'm "Screw"ed!

(...) The technic propeller (which I can't find in Partsref unfortunately, but is used on the tail of the 8412 Wasp) is 9 wide. You can mount two back to back on an axle so they are only 1 deep. Problems with this are that you can only have 4 blades (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: I'm "Screw"ed!

(...) That'd be pretty cool-- I think the propellor would end up being something like 3 bricks tall/thick using that scheme? (I think each step/"blade" is what, 2 plates thick?) That might be just about right for such a large propeller... DaveE (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: I'm "Screw"ed!

(...) Outback Airstrip windmill blades? About the right shape except the blades aren't slanted but that's minor. (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: I'm "Screw"ed!

(...) Try one of the spiral staircases from the new HP sets. :) James (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military)

  I'm "Screw"ed!

I need help on the Submarine's screw. Propeller for the un-navy terms. It needs to be about 8-10 wide, and have 5-8 blades. :) THanks In advance. Rick (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build.military)

Re: The fork tailed devil! A small scale P-38

(...) Thanks, I've been mulling over a P-38, and toying with ideas for the difficult rounded shapes, such as the cockpit and the tail, and I have some ideas, but it will be quite a while before (if ever) I get it done, the spit is taking a rather (...) (...) Very cool, Geordan! Funny, what you call "quickly-thrown-together" or "afterthought" models look like projects that would take me weeks to finish :P Keep up the good work! -s (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.military)
