  Re: RX-78-2 Gundam

It is nicely done - great proportion and articulation. I have to comment on the beam saber, assuming you are trying to match the original design: The beam part should be trans-red or trans-orange, and the saber hilt should be the white pieces (...)   First set of pics uploaded! MSZ-006 (prototype)

This build has been an ever-evolving process. I thought I'd post a few pictures to get started (and hopefully finished). (2 URLs) Brickshelf Folder> This build was inspired by the MSZ-006 Gundam (lots of pics online), obviously I couldn't mimic it (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Yeah, it's pretty obviously a stand-in right now. MAHQ has weapon lineart for a lot of stuff, might be a good idea to poke around and steal bits from several. (...) Up-and-comer is right! Welcome to Lugnet. Not much to say except it's good to see a new builder. There seem to be less of you these days. I've always loved this particular Gundam. It's just so scuba gear and all cyclops and stuff. (...) Again (...) (19 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Hello Jas, as I really don't like Gundam I mostly ignore them. This time I didn't. You did a great job so far. Great use of color. Also like the spotlighting stickers. Maybe I have to rethink my opinion about stickers in general? Curious to see more (...) (19 years ago, 30-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Latest WIP shot

Cheers again for all comments and ideas... Here is a slightly blurry shot of how its looking so far. The gun needs a little work yet but I'm happy with the shield design. Its a fine balancing act between what looks good and what the arm joints can (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Looking good - not really saying ZZ to me, but that's just fine, because I hate the ZZ Gundam :). I do have a short list of criticisms and suggestions: Chest: I think moving the whole torso back about a stud on the hip assembly would make it seem (...) (...) I don't know if I can give you much constructive criticism, because so far, I like pretty much everything I see. :-) The only thing that looks off a bit are the forearms. They look short. I'm not a big fan of GlaGla's minifig arms-as-hands (...) (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Hi all, Just thought I'd post a WIP of my latest Mecha. Its been a while since I've built anything and I have now got a pretty good storage system for my bricks, so it was a joy building this. Well, seeing as you're on a Gundam kick lately, I have to say this is pretty obviously the Double Zeta of mech bays - all the elements are there, and some of it is kinda nifty, but it just doesn't come together.
