Hi all,
Just thought Id post a WIP of my latest Mecha. Its been a while since Ive
built anything and I have now got a pretty good storage system for my bricks, so
it was a joy building this.
The design is loosely based on the ZZ Gundam (saw it in Feb 2005 Newtype
Magazine) but I wasnt too bothered about how alike it was. Head design was
copied from Kerouacs SG because I havent managed to do one that looks half as
good! The frame is Rotational Click Joint and the majority of pieces come from
the five Exo Force sets I purchased (7700).
The problem now is Im a bit stuck on where to go next, there are some areas
that need a little tweaking and thats where you good folks come into the
equation! Not sure what sort of backpack to go for, or to have one at all. So
any ideas, comments and critiques will be much appreciated, I think this is the
best thing I have made so far and with your help I want to try and get it
finished, before I get distracted again! ;)
Cheers
Jas

| (...) holy crap, that's a work in ~progress~?! it's wonderful! perhaps some more shots would highlight any areas of weakness - you said about a backpack and we can't see what the back looks like at the moment; but if that were mine, I'd be happy to (...) | (...) (insert kick ass mecha here) Feeling a bit inspired are we? ;-) (...) Overall sleek slope nice lines. The elbows seem weirded but hardly even worth mentioning. (...) Yes you should make a backpack or jetpack. Also some weapons would be a nice (...) (19 years ago, 5-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| Sorry I can't help you with suggestions on where to go next. I just wanted to chime in and say that is a very clean design so far, from what I can see. I would like to see more of how you used those mecha click hinges - did you use them for the (...) (19 years ago, 5-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| Looking good - not really saying ZZ to me, but that's just fine, because I hate the ZZ Gundam :). I do have a short list of criticisms and suggestions: Chest: I think moving the whole torso back about a stud on the hip assembly would make it seem (...) | Jas, Kick butt slope usage. I was posting earlier that you need the backpack and a weapon or two. Soren has some good gun ideas, especially with his more recent NemoII. Also check out David Rabahan's BS folder. He has a folder named "weapons" that (...) (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| (...) I don't know if I can give you much constructive criticism, because so far, I like pretty much everything I see. :-) The only thing that looks off a bit are the forearms. They look short. I'm not a big fan of GlaGla's minifig arms-as-hands (...) (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| Cheers again for all comments and ideas... Here is a slightly blurry shot of how its looking so far. The gun needs a little work yet but I'm happy with the shield design. Its a fine balancing act between what looks good and what the arm joints can (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
