There are two different missile racks. I wanted to do my original technic
half-pin missiles, but didn't have enough white pins, so I did the larger
missile racks instead. Then I disassembled and sorted my 4402 Sea Riders set,
and suddenly discovered where all my white technic half-pins were. I use the
smaller missile boxes when doing the poses because they're lighter weight.

The uppermost joint sockets are connected to the body with a one-stud connection
on top and bottom so they swivel. It's not a very high friction joint, but
there's very little torque on that axis, so it works okay. The whole thing is
actually reasonably sturdy compared to my other stuff. I'll try to get a
stripped-down skeleton pic the next time I'm shooting photos. Thanks for the
comments!
