Oh, my. I’m so delighted to see a further evolution of the upper-body stylings used in the “Crab” you posted some time back. In particular, the further development of the “T” layout and the integration of the EWF package (and the chin sensor turret--hooray chin sensor turrets!) are especially pleasing. The sense of integration and function are marvelous. I presume the upper body does not have any rotation, but that all such is done by the guns or by movement/twisting of those legs? (I’d imagine that for stand-off killing, that’s all one really needs--and a lack of “waist” articulation just adds to the sheer sense of massiveness of the thing.)

God, I do so love your replies LFB!

Yes, this is basically the “Crab” blown up 3-4 times or something.

I was considering making the top a very low turret in the planning stage, back in September-October, but around November I realized it wouldn’t make sense, as you nicely explained.

You see, I consider these Mobile Platforms to be like the Jagdpanthers and Kingtigers of WWII... They are huge, hulking, pieces of mobile direct-fire artillery. In the case of the Jagdpanther it’s basically a casemate with treads. That’s the way I see Mobile Platforms such as the MBP as being: gigantic land-based standoff weapons. Hence the lack of waist articulation.

Aside: I even tried to evoke the flak 88 in the railgun design, note the two recoil compensating “pistons” below it.

Bonus goodness: The color scheme. You do have a gift there. Though I do wonder if the railguns are getting a little extreme in their length...;)

Heh, thanks LFB! I actually wanted to make the railguns 16 studs longer, but realized that might be a bit too much. :-p One day though, I’ll make them even longer!!!

How flexible are the legs? Can it crouch down?

Not flexible at all. There are “joints”, but they are all locked by slopes and other stoppers. Sorry. :-(

Again, what a marvelous thing.

Thank you, your reply really made my day.
