I just went downstairs and tried this (I assume your method puts the handle of
the bullhorn in the open end of the Technic peg after its through the brick)
and it seems to work very, very well indeed. Is that how you did it? Ive been
logicking out various bits and subassemblies for my ongoing major project, and
one of the biggest problems has been supporting that kind of weight in the
limited space allowed while still having some kind of flexibility for gearing
it. This may allow me to do just that, even more effectively than rotary click
joints which have their limits...youre my hero du jour, sir.
Are there other ways of stiffening up an elevating cannon-type assembly? These
things will be 500g apiece and very long (they are what you think they are), so
robustness is critical.

Well, I learned a weaker method of stiffening from Ben Vaughan, he used a (URL) instead of the loudhailer for his mecha's (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
