  Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

(...) :) (...) Hmm, I guess I would say that I have this thing for making a Mech head out of every cool window or space canopy. This was the first that I didn't use one. So it was fun. (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

Thanks T! After I made RTTDD, I had a bunch of parts I wanted to use but could'nt find a place for them, so I built another Mech to use them in! I had this hip design I wanted to use and the rest is, well, on my web-site! (...) pix. I want to learn (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

G! waddup! (...) Thanks! (...) Thanks, I drew inspiration from Chris Snead. Plus I wanted to make a head that was small and not to complex that used angles and the like. (...) I have been trying to intergrate the spine bend and spine rotation (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Woah...too incredible for words. The best I've ever seen. I just can't form words right now on how good those are. Suggestions: Cliffjumper, Mirage, Wheeljack, & Bluestreak Jeff the dumfounded (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct entry: LT-100 Hurricane

Hey Anne you got it! Very nice, good techniques. Your pulling our legs, your first? Great Mech. Look forward to seeing more. e (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

(...) Yet on the backs of the Republic gunship, Imperial Shuttle, AT-TE, and several other models (I think), there are 'alternate' mecha models. Somebody in Lego must be a mecher. (...) I agree with you, but still it is a shame. Perhaps they could (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

(...) I really like Megatron, but I have to say, Starscream is my new favorite! WOW! It's a good thing you positioned Megatron to the side, and not with his back to Starscream ;-) Optimus Prime looks really good, too; but I think he didn't have (...)   Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

oooh...zaku and rx-79 hybrid! good call! i never looked at it that way, although the design is purely accidental. i've done several bandai gundam models including the ms-06a zaku II and one of the (g) gundams (i forget which one) so it's possible (...)   Re: Mechastruct entry: LT-100 Hurricane

let me get this right: this is your FIRST mecha? that thing is fabulous! it's way better than my first mecha--which was more like a clunky robot with big guns. you got the gundam look down also. i really like how you incorporated the entire white (...)   Mechastruct entry: LT-100 Hurricane

This is the first mech I've been, but what the hey, I'll enter him in the contest :) I have to thank all the mech builders out there for inspiring me, not to mention all the advice :) Category is military mech over 8 inches tall. Stands 12 inches (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

(...) Mechastruct is finally filling in. The Gunjin looks like a Zaku and an RX-79 got combined, with the RX's guns and colors, and a zaku chassis and armor style. Every time I look at one of these, it almost makes me want to scrap all my (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct Entry: Travoltamech

(...) Thanks. The hands are the yellow foam hands that come with the soccer sets. A useless mech doesn't need articulated fingers. The shoulder hinge holes are the new 2X2X2 clicking hinges(the ones from the new alpha team/slave one). I love these (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

The transformation is a compromise, and even moreso with lego than with the toys, it makes the robot form suffer, aesthetically speaking. That's no disrespect for the transforming lego mecha that I've seen, they are quite good, and in the case of (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

Whoa. That's cool. I'd say you got the look dead on. Dang. (checking pics out again) Dang. I'd say though, without getting Hasbro's (they still own TF?) permission or liscense, TLC isn't going to touch you. I've noticed that Transformers are making (...)   Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

And the moral of all of this is; do not mess with cats. They're evil through and through. I should know, I got three. I just hate to think what they are building in the back yard. Neat mech Eric. I particuarily like the fairy wings on the back. Arms (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

I really like this trend in mecha. Transformers rock! My suggestions would be perhaps some of the smaller ones that actually transform, like Bumblebee or Brawn. Since you got Prime, maybe Ultra Magnus wouldn't be too hard to make. And why not try (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

OH MY LORD! Those are SPOT-ON perfect, both to the DreamWave comics and the original cartoon. Wow. I'd buy 'em. He's not an autobot, but I'm definitely a Soundwave fan (thus, the Ravage).   Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

Hi all. I've posted a preview picture of my 3 finished Transformer figures. You'll recognize Megatron of course, but he's had some refinements since you last saw him, including custom stickers and a black gun. Optimus and Starscream are new, I think (...)   Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

it's interesting how you pointed out the "compact" look. to take it one step further, it's not only compact, but fairly basic in design and appearance. there's very little "fringe" parts, so detail was not a major priority for me. in fact, i tried (...)   Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

(...) Incredibly awesome entry. Kind of compact, yet imposing. I like how you included plenty of articulation to make it posable, provided, makes for a nice aspect to any mech, per se. Exemplary. Great job. Peace out, <<_Matt Hein_>> Fellow lego (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

coming from the master, i am profoundly honored. you also did a fantastic job on the rttdd. not only is it an original idea, but you emulated the form of a cat very nicely. i can only hope to be competition for you. good luck, and may the best (...)   Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

you are correct in that assessment. the head does look like a zaku. in fact, the mouthpiece/hose assembly i got from sun yun's zaku. that was the last part of the head i added (with reservation). i would have avoided that part and went for the (...)   Re: mechastruct entry: AV-05 Gunjin

Jason Coronado, I must say that is a VERY SWEET mecha. You did an amazing job with that gla-glaish chasis. The legs are by far the nicest and most attractive section. The flat planes and angles look really nice. The head is very similar to the Zaku (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
