snip and as soon as I get all of my bb (...) Sorry forgot to add this in before, before you go thinking I'm crazy, this is more of a test than a creation. I've never tried anything this large before and I think it would do me good to try something (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Vaporization of Zero Two

(...) Nice! (...) Very well said! I can not agree that scientists should not have to worry with morality. Or maybe I do agree? It depends if we were talking about personal morality or the current morality of the masses. But then how would a person (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

No! Not again! That's it, I am asking for help!

I finally started building a new Gundam at 1am this morning biginning with the torso. It was supposed to be a small, no more than 2ft tall Gundam, but no. At 7am I was still working on the torso! Why? Because I had began building another 4ft (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Are we doing the right thing?

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on this matter. I was very impressed to see everything from general ideology to specific war scenarios in the 20 and some odd posts. Needles to say I can not agree with some of the opinions I have seen, but (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Hehe, sorry, I'm on dsl, I keep forgetting that most people use 56k, as I said to kyle, I wanna re-upload all o' my pics and file them etc. (...)   Re: The Allied Terror, a good day for mecha...

Geordan, Somehow I missed this one. I just saw it on the recent page on Brickshelf and came looking for you post. First off I agree with Kyle; you've got to resize your pictures. Loading times made me give up. Nice mecha though. I like the backpack (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Are we doing the right thing?

Hi all, Rather than dip into the very icy waters of military might discussions ( in which I'm sure I couldn't hold up my end) , I thought I'd try to limit my comments to weapons, lego and mecha as they relate to each other, and maybe I'll have some (...)   Re: Are we doing the right thing?

(...) Gundams were made to be super weapons. In GW, the five gundams were built to start an entire revolution! It appears that Treize Kushrandia (Did I spell it right?) built the Epyon to destroy the Gundams. Mobile Suits still have an extreme (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Vaporization of Zero Two

(...) Pretty powerful statements you got there Brian! ;-) Man, those pictures are awesome!!! The last one is my favourite; I love how the BAR is sort of drifting in space. Excellent pictures Brian. BTW I love how the whole Gundam series treats war (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  The Vaporization of Zero Two

Alas there can be no pictures of all four gundams together: (URL) minifigs were harmed in the creation of these images ;-) Actually series like Gundam point out that both sides in a war believe they are justified in their actions and have the moral (...)   Re: Are we doing the right thing?

(...) If anything, I'd say that this reinforces a point that Eric made, at least by example. That point being that a strong military is useful in deterring other nations from attacking yours, but speaks nothing as to whether or not your nation will (...)   Re: Are we doing the right thing?

Germany sure didn't show any hesitation to use their vastly supperior army in WWII, nor did the Romans hesitate to us theirs, or the British durring colonial expansion etc. (...)   Re: Are we doing the right thing?

I agree 110% with James! Look at the Cold War for example, both the U.S.A. and U.S.S.R. had enough nuclear weapons to annihilate the world, but did they? Deterrence is what prevented both nations from even thinking about launching their arsenals. To (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Are we doing the right thing?

(...) Things are slow around here, so I'm going to jump into the fray. Does history bear that out? I don't think that there is a correlation between the strength of a nation and a reticence towards war. james (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Hello everybody!

cool pics Chris. I love the "Full Metal Jacket" one!!! Make sure you bring him with you to the Lugola meeting so I can have a grudge match against my old school GI Joe. Later, Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

RE: Are we doing the right thing?

I think that weaponry is actually a very positive message. If weapons are for defense, it shows that a nation is strong. The stronger a nation is, the less likely it is that it will ever go to war.   Re: Are we doing the right thing?

Speaking for myself - I have tried to stay away from building mecha - for the very reasons that Bobby mentions. A mecha without a weapon built from LEGO is a pretty cool thing. Especially some of the larger models seen on Brickshelf in the last few (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
