  Re: Car Dealership

(...) And the correct answer is: A: None of your business! As far as you know, I'm paying cash because I already arranged financing somewhere else, and oh, by the way, the amount I arranged is also none of your business, although you can figure it (...)   Re: Car Dealership

(...) I always saw the huge showroom window as more of a parking space for the car. You would think that lego could have used its "showroom" window piece that was available at the time(as seen in 6375 Exxon Gas Station in clear and 6970 Beta- 1 (...)   Re: Car Dealership

(...) Beautiful...my only suggestion is to make the architecture a bit more interesting. Break up those windows with some supporting pillars, maybe. --Bram (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) They wouldn't be bad, just not ideal. Most office windows I've seen are tinted. There are some that are clear, and it probably wouldn't look bad. It also depends on the color scheme of the building. Trans-lt-blue probably wouldn't go with red (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) I always assumed it was an auto repair shop. Jeff may have a point, considering what's inside. Maybe the person that designed it could tell us? KL (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) Nope, I'm pretty sure it is a car dealership. The minifig fits the stereotype perfectly, and why would a driving school have a huge showroom window? The second floor office has the feel of a car dealership as well, at least to me. Jeff (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) Are the clear windows really that bad for use in office windows? (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) I believe the red building in 6390 Main Street housed a driving school, not a car dealership. (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

How much are you willing to 'come down' on that RV in the showroom? ;-) - Greg (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) It's CaLEGO Worthington and his dog 'Spot'! Seriously, that is one cool dealership. -Dave (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

(...) Come to think of it, I don't recall *ever* seeing any other car dealership in Lego before. Franklin (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Car Dealership

Since the thin walls fro LEGO Direct are clear instead of tinted, they aren't ideal for office windows. They are however very useful for ground floor windows. The first thing that came to my mind after unpacking them was this: (URL) can't imagine (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: The missing arch

(...) :-( I don't think the latter is possible, seeing that the inner radius of the arch is at a different sloping as its outer radius... <fumbling with some parts> Nope, it doesn't fit. I guess I'll go with a gap, then. But - ugh. -Shiri (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: The missing arch

(...) I've run into the same problem myself. Maybe at some point LEGO will create that missing arch, but I don't think they have. You could leave the curved opening, or you could add a second row with the medium arch stragetically moved forward and (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)
