In lugnet.announce, Bram Lambrecht writes:
The Shrike Interceptor is built for high speed and maneuverability.  The wings
sweep to three different positions: when straight out, they provide the most
lift for takeoff and landing; when swept forward, they increase
maneuverability at sub-mach speeds for dogfight situations; and when
swept back, the jet can reach its top speed for those long hauls.  The landing
gear completely retracts, and the cockpit and the storage compartment behind it
swing open.  Since my website isn't quite ready (and I already exceeded my disk
quota), here's the Brickshelf gallery:

Very cool! I'm amazed at how much detail you crammed into there. The top
intakes are so cool! Nice use of the bionicle feet\heads. The fold back
wings are nice too. It looks like it was designed after one of the earlier
Mig fighter craft, the name escapes me at the moment. But the wings on that
craft swept forward such as they do on your model, and it had the little
winglets protruding from under the cockpit area.

Very nice work,

(...) Thanks! (...) Although I didn't use any pictures while building, semi-concious inspiration came from the Grumman X-29[1] and Grumman F-14 Tomcat[2]. --Bram 1) (2 URLs) Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (23 years ago, 23-Jul-01, to lugnet.build)
