  My Moc's

Hi all; I've been meaning to create a website for ages, but not having a camera (digital or otherwise) made it difficult. However, my thanks to fellow VLC'er Bryan Wong for bringing his digital camera to the last meeting, and subsequently posting my (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build) !!

  Re: My Moc's

(...) The jet is nice of course, but I really like this truck. Although it's a little too big for minifigs, it's a great scale to build at! (I've done a couple vehicles[1] at that approximate scale, but I haven't (yet) tried to add steering. I think (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) Bram: Well, let me say that I'm really glad you of all people like my truck (your mastery of minifig vehicles is known throughout Lugnet -- to this date, I can't come up with an original Colonial Viper design even remotely as good as yours in (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

Wow, a working Optimus! That F-15 is huge! Cool! Nice work! ~Mark (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) [snip] (...) [snip again] Hi Mark, I love that mini Black Cat truck, you've really put a lot of detail into such a small space, and it has great lines, too. Your Optimus Prime is way awesome. Sometimes I look at LEGO and all I see are (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  RE: My Moc's

(...) If you like *small trucks* have a look at: (2 URLs) These are 4 studs wide and scale very nicely to HO trains. I STILL want to buy a really cheap HO train set and stick a LEGO body on it... Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng ---...--- Check out (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  RE: My Moc's

(...) I'm flattered! :) (...) I find the difficulty with sports cars is that there is very little space between the top of the opening of the wheel well and the hood of the car. It's often difficult to implement steering as well because LEGO wheels (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) Thanks... wait a minute, I already showed you this beforehand. Well, most of it (It's still in progress; I'm at a loss as to what to do about the 2 curved white pieces. I'll either put black and red stickers on them, or *ack* cut modify the (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) add (...) The Viper is awesome - even more so in real life. I never really cared for the show, but I would have to say that the Viper was the best thing about it. And I would rather look at Bram's model than watch the show any day. (...) Great (...) (24 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) Heck, no. I like your 'plate over wheel well' solution you used for your red Diablo model. The only other thing I can think of is using an arch around the wheel (won't work terribly well for wedge shaped cars, like the Lamborghinis though). If (...)   Re: My Moc's

Your F-15 is just the type that I always want to see in MOCs, it is too legoish, and very accurate at the same time. And your Black Cat Jr. also very well built, and it's even more impressive after reading that it is built from the pictures only. (...) (24 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) Just post a big me too to this one. One of the best Autobots I've ever seen. Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(Is there a way to tie your reply to multiple messages?) (...) Mark S, Bryce: Thanks for your kind comments, but do remember I didn't come up with the idea for doing a Lego Transformer. Mike Wampole's Legobots (and Joel Kuester's Lego Transformers) (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) One thing I like about your Optimus is the fact that he transforms, is poseable, -and- looks good in both modes. I've seen several transforming LEGO robots, but not all of them look good and are functional in both modes. (...) That's also a (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) Nope. The original Diaclone series came with little men that drove/flew the robots, and the American Transformers series kept the access to the cockpits while doing away with actually giving you the little men. Therefore, Optimus' cab opens, (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) I asked that exact question back here: (URL) best thing that worked for me was to cut small pieces of paper in strips, then fold the strips up (i think I ended up with 10 layers or so of paper) and cut them to be just a little longer and wider (...)   Re: My Moc's

<Yoda's voice on> Yes, listen to Mark S. and Adrian, wise are they... Hmmm... Yes, listen you must... <Yoda's voice off> Yeah, Saran wrap/paper is great for creating those stiff shoulders. Also I would think that double Throwbot ball-joints would (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

I figured this out once upon a time, because I bought a Diakron (American version of Diaclone) toy that came with 2 of the li'l guys. I was pretty excited that I had people to put in my Transformers! (URL) my suspicions were confirmed when I read (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

Eric, Mark: yes I knew about Diaclone for most of the Autobots (and Microman, I believe it was called, for the majority of the 1st wave of Decepticons). That's actually partly the reason for why I insisted that minifigs fit into all my Transformers (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My Moc's

(...) I've typically used a 2x2 turntable plate (<part:3679> and <part:3680>) stiffened with a semi-thick piece of paper between the two halves. The trick is to get the paper just thick enough; your typical college-ruled school paper is too thin, (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.build)
